Sub-series contains material documenting the BIRS (Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery) workshop in creative writing, mathematics and science. Davis co-founded the workshop with Marjorie Senechal, co-editor at The Mathematical Intelligencer, and Jan Zwicky with the intent of fostering a supportive and creative environment for this type of interdisciplinary expression. The workshop was first offered in 2003. The group later co-edited the Shape of Content: Creative Writing in Mathematics and Science (2008), inspired by the workshop’s approach and production. Material in this series includes programme details such as reports, excerpts of writing, schedules, correspondence, and event ephemera.
