History
(Alfred) Dwight Bennett studied conducting and music education at the University of Toronto where his teachers included Karel Ančerl, Victor Feldbrill, and Andrew Davis. He conducted the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra (1974-1989), was Director of Music at Lakehead University (1974-1980, taught until 1988), and was the music director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra (1986-1990). He later returned to the University of Toronto, where he was an Adjunct Professor in conducting at the Faculty of Music (1995-1997) and conductor of the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra (1993-1997).
