      Tony Clement was born in Manchester, England in 1961 and came to Canada in 1965. He graduated from the University of Toronto (University College) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1983 and received an LLB (Bachelor of Law) degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, in 1986. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988.

      Mr. Clement was President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario from 1990 to 1992. He was elected as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Brampton South in June, 1995. Subsequently, he was appointed by Premier Harris as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation.
