        Adrian Gibson Dafoe was the grandson of William Allan Dafoe, a doctor in the rural community of Madoc, Ontario with interests in local history and the family genealogy. William Allan Dafoe's son Allan Roy Dafoe also went on to become a doctor in Callender, Ontario. He became known for delivering the famous Dionne Quintuplets in 1934
