Note

"Even though this song does not belong to the Latvian folklore, it has been included in the folklore materials of E. Melngailis, who qualified this air as an authentic gipsy song. There were only a few nomadic gipsy tribes in Latvia whose main livelihood was derived from horse trading, and the text of this song is an illustration: 'Beyond the bushes and the woods, the masters three blue horses are prancing and chuncks [sic] of earth are flying. Oh God, how will I be able to harness them!'".
