History

Cal Dodd is an Irish-Canadian voice actor and singer. Dodd grew up in Port Dover, Ontario after moving from Ireland. His career began in 1975 with his first solo album New Horizons. In the mid 70’s, Dodd joined the band Déjà Vu and released two albums with them: Songs For Everyone (1976), and Get It Up For Love (1977). The next year in 1978 marked the second stage of his career when he began to host the CTV television show Circus. His television career quickly flourished and his voice-acting career began. Lending his talents to Fraggle Rock (1984), Goosebumbs (1997), and King (2003), he is best known for his work on X-Men: The Animated Series (1992-1997) as popular character Wolverine. Because of the success of the animated franchise, Dodd continued to voice Wolverine on multiple video games and lend his skills to other character voices. When the popular program ended, Dodd still chose to work in voice-acting, taking on new rolls. He has also gone back to spending time on his musical career, appearing on The Ron James Show (2014) as a singer and releasing a self-titled album, Cal Dodd (2007). As a major part of the Canadian media, his voice has also been used on many commercial campaigns including Molson Canadian, Air Canada, Coca Cola, and Raisin Bran making him known as the ‘Jingle King’.
