Scope and content
File consists of three draft typescripts of "Downward Mobility: Vocation, Temptation and Formation in Ministry". It is likely this typescript is based on a talk given by Nouwen at the 1980 Zabriskie Lecture at the Virginia Seminary. The paper was later published in The Virginia Seminary Journal (1980). It was also published in a three-part series in Sojourners (1981).
Folder (1) contains draft (1), which is an original typescript with a handwritten title page and other annotations by Nouwen. Folder (2) contains draft (2), which is a typescript annotated by an editor for British publication and includes typed notes from the editor to Nouwen. It appears that Nouwen was preparing to have this typescript published. Folder (3) contains a hard-bound typescript of the text.
