Scope and content

The collection consists of Hunter's research materials on two Canadian artists: J.E.H. MacDonald and his son Thoreau MacDonald. Papers include: correspondence to Hunter from Thoreau MacDonald (some with original illustrations), Hunter's drafts and editorial correspondence relating to his articles and books on the MacDonalds, and his research materials on both artists, including notes, indexes, articles by others on their work, catalogues, clippings, reviews and reproductions.
