Biographical history

Elspeth MacGregor Cameron (born 10 Jan 1943) is a Canadian writer known for her biographies of noted Canadian literary figures such as Irving Layton and Earle Birney. Her biography of Hugh MacLennan, Hugh MacLennan: A Writer's Life, was nominated for a Governor General's Award. No Previous Experience won the W. O. Mitchell Literary Prize. She has also published a volume of poetry.

She currently lives in St. Catharines, Ontario. Cameron has taught at Concordia University, the University of Toronto and Brock University.

Drafts of articles in Chatelaine and Saturday Night, class notes and administrative correspondence for her teaching at Concordia and University of Toronto, 54 photographs,and audio and video tapes.
