        History

        Lorand Fenyves, violin, was born in Budapest February 20, 1918 and died in Switzerland March 23, 2004. He was a visiting teacher at the University of Toronto in 1965 before joining the Faculty of Music in 1966, where he continued to coach the Orford Quartet. He was named professor emeritus in 1983 and remained on the teaching faculty until 2004.
