        History

        Doreen (Foy) Hall, music educator and violinist, was born in Warrenpoint, Ireland May 24, 1921. She introduced the Orff-Schulwerk approach "Music for Children" to North America and later founded the Orff-Schulwerk Society of Canada (1974). Hall was a professor of music education at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music from 1967 to 1985. Hall passed away in Toronto on January 19, 2025.
