Material regarding Patrick O'Neill and family

File consists of a photocopy of a 1935 election flyer promoting Patrick O'Neill, a handwritten page and a typed page of genealogical information about Patrick O'Neill and his family, two newspaper articles concerning the bombing of the Crown Hotel in 1982 and the subsequent clearance work on the site, two reprinted newspaper articles (from 1926 and 1938), and a newspaper article about a talk given by Teresa O'Neill about the social history of Newry. File also includes a copy of an extract from a 1941 letter [to ?] received from H.B.M. Consul C.L. Roseberry, Tornio, Finland regarding his sudden departure to Stockholm. It is likely that this item originated from within Teresa V. O'Neill's group of acquaintances, perhaps through her connections at the Crown Hotel and with the British regiment that was stationed in Warrenpoint during WWII. Public Record Office of Northern Ireland description of D.2720, correspondence of Patrick O'Neill, printed papers and miscellany have been added to this file, constituting an account of documents presented by Mrs. T. O'Neill also added to the folder by archivist, paper bound photocopy of unknown origin.

Executrix correspondence

File consists of correspondence with Professor M. Roberts (Department of Modern History, The Queen's University of Belfast) and with the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland regarding the transfer of Patrick O'Neill's political papers to the Public Record Office, as well as correspondence with Eamon Phoenix concerning his research for a doctoral thesis at The Queen's University of Belfast about the nationalist movement in Northern Ireland.

The sixth parliament of George III. 1798-1800

File consists of a draft of Teresa V. O'Neill's thesis entitled "The sixth parliament of George III. 1798-1800." O'Neill submitted this thesis for her MA in Modern Irish History at the University College of Dublin, for which she received First Class Honours when she graduated in 1943.

Series consists of personal correspondence, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other memorabilia that Patrick O'Neill collected during his political career and in his personal life, including relics of St. Anthony and St. Oliver Plunket contained within a leather pouch.

File consists of personal memorabilia that Patrick O'Neill collected throughout his life and career, including newspaper articles, invitations, personal letters, House of Commons and Senate directories, a poster declaring Ulster's Solemn League and Covenant, relics of St. Anthony and St. Oliver Plunket (Archbishop of Armagh and last Catholic martyr to die in England in 1681) contained within a leather pouch, a postcard from Rome, and an article about 'How to Make the Stations.' File also includes four photographs: one of a group of people standing in front of the Victoria Hotel, beside the main entrance of which is O'Neill's office; one of two men and a girl on a beach; one of a stone monument of a religious figure, and one of five men sitting on rocks.

Statement to the Irish Boundary Commission

File consists of a document addressed to the Irish Boundary Commission entitled, 'Statement on behalf of the vast majority of the Inhabitants of the Union of Newry (including Crossmaglen) and the Union of Kilkeel.'
