This Margaret Atwood accession complements and builds on the existing Atwood collections held at the Fisher Library. It includes manuscript drafts – both holograph and word processed – of Atwood’s 2006 short story collection Moral Disorder, as well manuscripts and related material for various projects, including short articles, lectures and speeches. There is also a large collection of material dealing with various causes (cultural and environmental, as well as her work with PEN Canada), and administrative material dealing with the founding of the Griffin Award for Poetry

The latest accession of Margaret Atwood’s papers complements and builds on the Atwood Papers held at the Fisher Library. It consists of a large collection of juvenilia, both her’s and her brother’s, as well as letters written by Atwood to her parents over a 40- year period. The papers also include manuscripts, including the holograph drafts of individual poems, from Atwood’s collection of poems, The Door (published in 2007), as well as manuscripts and editorial material for Moral Disorder and the stage version of The Penelopiad.

This latest accession of the Margaret Atwood Papers complements and builds on the Atwood collections held at the Fisher Library. It consists of draft manuscripts for the 2008 Massey Lectures delivered by Atwood, collected and published as Payback: Debt and the Shadow Side of Wealth (House of Anansi Press, 2008), as well as research material for the lectures. There is also an extensive collection of media clippings, including reviews, for the Atwood books Moral Disorder, The Tent, Up in the Tree and The Penelopiad (book and stage production), as well as correspondence, largely editorial (including marketing and book tour information) on those books. The papers also include correspondence from various friends and colleagues of Atwood, including June Callwood, Dorothy Livesay, John Newlove, James Reaney, Jane Rule and Carol Shields.
