Ontario College of Education

Consists of correspondence with individuals relating to OCE graduate programmes only (not teaching or BEd certificates). Correspondence concerns applications for admission, appointment of instructors, information to applicants and enrolled students about graduate programmes and correspondence with other Canadian faculty members re graduate programs.

Consists of correspondence of the Deans with the Deputy Minister of Education, University President and Bursar/Chief Accountant (1940-1964), records of the office of the Registrar relating to awards and scholarships, summer school sessions, examination questions (1909-1967), admissions, and medical (physical) examinations (ca. 1946-1965), and subject files of the Office of Director of Practice Teaching (1961-1965). Also includes two architectural drawings.

Consists of administrative files of the Office of the Dean, including Council minutes and correspondence with other University administrative units and the Ontario Dept. of Education (1908-1946), correspondence and financial records of the monthly periodical The School (1912-1948), examination questions (1907-1949). Also included are student records, consisting of ledgers containing examination results for the Faculty of Education (1907-1920) and the Ontario College of Education (1907-1955), and student marks (ca. 1960-1966).

Predominantly consists of records from the Faculty of Education (FEUT) and OISE created prior to the merger in 1996. FEUT records include the records of various FEUT committees such as the Executive Committee (1986-1992), Advisory Board (1968-1995), Faculty Council (1973-1999), Program Development Subcommittee (1974-1995), and the FEUT/OISE Joint Council on Education (1982-1989). Also included are records pertaining to the Institute of Child Study (1979-2000) and to various FEUT centres. OISE records predominantly consist of those of the OISE Board of Governors and Executive Committee (1991-1996). There are also FEUT/OISE merger records for various committees and task forces. Also included are records pertaining to University of Toronto Schools as well as 7 videos.
