The Spectator : Music on the edge of the world

File contains the NOW (Life and Entertainment) section of the newspaper The Spectator from Hamilton, Ontario, which contains an article on Udo Kasemets entitled "Music on the edge of the world." The article is about his multi-media show, Geo(sono)scope : an acoustic atlas of the global village, which was presented at the Hamilton Artists' Inc. studio. The article includes a photograph of Udo Kasemets holding a map of the world, folded as an icosahedron (polyhedron with 20 faces made out of triangles).

Fonds consists of sketches, drafts, and texts for Udo Kasemets’s compositions, including scores prior to 1960 that use conventional media, and those after 1960, which consists of multi-purpose scores, combination scores, and theatre pieces. The fonds also contains programs and press notices for performances by Udo Kasemets and of his works; correspondence with many American avant-garde musicians; and Kasemets’s projects and notes from his time teaching at the Ontario College of Art.
