Collection consists of promotional materials created and collected by the Faculty of Music, including newsletters, photographs, student publications, and other reference materials that reflect the activities of the faculty, staff, and students.

Scott St. John : [photographs]

File includes a photograph of violinist Scott St. John speaking from the stage during the March 28, 2003 concert, which included the announcement of a donation from Alice and Grant Burton to support chamber groups in residence at the Faculty.

Amici Chamber Ensemble : [photographs]

File consists of two promotional photographs of Amici with their instruments: Patricia Parr, piano; Joaquin Valdepeñas, clarinet; and David Hetherington, cello. The Amici chamber ensemble was formed in 1985, and they became the trio-in-residence at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music in 1989.

Canadian Brass : [photograph]

Item is a promotional photograph of the Canadian Brass quintet: Ronald Romm and Frederic Mills, trumpets; David Ohanian, French horn; Eugen Watts, trombone; and Charles Daellenbach, tuba. The Canadian Brass Quintet was an ensemble-in-residence at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music from 1998 to 2003.

Elmer Iseler Singers : [photograph]

Item is a promotional photograph of the Elmer Iseler Singers with Dr. Elmer Iseler. The 20-voice chamber choir was founded by Iseler in 1979 and were artists-in-residence at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music from 1994-1995.

St. Lawrence String Quartet : [photographs]

File consists of promotional photographs of the St. Lawrence String Quartet, with Geoff Nuttall, Barry Shiffman, violin; Lesley Robertson, viola; and Marina Hoover, cello. The Quartet was founded in 1989, and they received coaching at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music from Lorand Fenyves. They have been quartet-in-residence at the Faculty of Music since 1995.

Photographs of students

Subseries consists of promotional photographs of select students at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music, which were collected and used by the Faculty's promotions office. Most of the photographs are of students in the Opera School or students who were featured in the Faculty's newsletter for winning an award or competition.

Michael Tippett master class

File consists of photographs from a master class given by Michael Tippett, the Wilma and Clifford Smith Visitor in Music. Photographs include Michael Tippett, Norbert Kraft, Che Anne Loewen, Adrianne Pieczonka, Carl Morey, and Meirion Bowen.

Reception for Oskar Morawetz and Lois Marshall

File consists of photographs taken during the reception at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music in honour of Lois Marshall, recipient of the 1987 Award for Music presented by the Toronto Arts Awards Foundation and Oskar Morawetz, recipient of the 1987 Order of Ontario. Photographed are Lois Marshall, Oskar Morawetz, and Carl Morey.

Ear to stone : [sculpture]

Item is a photograph of the "Ear to Stone" sculpture by John McEwen, which was installed in the ground floor entrance to the Music Library in the Rupert E. Edwards Wing.
