File contains autographed photographs of the following non-Canadian musicians: Malwine Brée, Franz Léhar, Theodor Leschetizky, Isolde Menges (dedicated to Dorothy Denison, Kelowna, [British Columbia], September 29, 1918), I. J. Paderewski, Hans Pfitzner, Ravi Shankar (2 photos by Eric Hayes), and Victoria de los Angeles. File also includes press photographs by B. Azarov for "forthcoming stage tour of the USSR State Symphony Orchestra in the USA and Canada" of Emil Gillels (pianist), Valery Klimov (violinist), Kirill Kondrashin (conductor), and members of the State Symphony Orchestra in the Big Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow.

Scrapbook compiled by Milton Blankstein

File consists of a scrapbook compiled by the Milton Blankstein (later, Blackstone), consisting of newspaper clippings of reviews and press notices, photographs, and programs relating to his career in New York City, Toronto, and other Canadian cities. The scrapbook includes a signed photograph of Eugène Ysaÿe and and Boris Hambourg (dated in Toronto, 1918).

Collection consists of materials relating to musical life in Toronto, Ontario. The collection includes photographs of various Canadian and European musicians, including various photographs of Canadian Opera Company productions from the late 1980s and early 1990s, autographs from various opera singers and musicians from the late-nineteenth century, three scrapbooks with newspaper clippings and programs, and a collection of songs published in the Toronto Evening Telegram at the end of the nineteenth century.

Oskar Morawetz

File consists of programs and posters for concerts featuring works by Oskar Morawetz, and copies of newspaper articles, correspondence, and programs. The file includes copies of letters from Coretta Scott King, regarding the Morawetz's compositions written in tribute to her husband Martin Luther King, Jr.; from Rose Kennedy regarding Morawetz's composition written in memory of her son John F. Kennedy; from Edward Johnson regarding the dedication of Morawetz's composition "Land of Dreams"; and from Otto Frank regarding the premiere of Morawetz's "From the Diary of Anne Frank." A copy of the vocal score for "From the Diary of Anne Frank" is also included in the file, with a handwritten dedication from the composer to Jean Lavender, inscribed "with best wishes and many thanks for building the Music Library at the Faculty of Music of the University of Toronto."

Luigi von Kunits

File consists of a photograph of Luigi von Kunits by the Van Eeden Studio (Toronto) and a photograph of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with von Kunits conducting (ca. 1923-1931). The file also contains the following score:

  • Souvenir de Moscou : op. 6 : for violin and piano by Henri Wieniawski (Braunschweig: Henry Litolff's Verlag, [191-?]), with annotations and autograph by Kunits
  • Kunits' cadenza to Brahms' Violin Concerto, op. 77 (handwritten, "property of [Eugene] Kash")
  • Popular Songs : transcription by Kunits (containing "Scenes that are brightest"from Maritana by W.V. Wallace, transcribed for [solo violin?] and piano).
