Postlude on a melody by Melchior Vulpius : for solo organ

File contains the manuscript scores for the 1955 and 1992 versions of Holman's Postlude on a melody by Melchior Vulpius ("The Strife is o'er") and an annotated copy of the published 1993 version, copyright Huron Press, London, Ontario. The published copy (London, Ont.: Jaymar, 1993) also includes Holman's Carol Prelude on "Away in a Manger" for solo organ. Postlude was commissioned by the Toronto Centre of the Royal Canadian College of Organists and dedicated to Janet MacFarlane Peaker. Carol Prelude was commissioned by the same and dedicated to Jean Nichols.

File contains a copy of the published score (Croydon: Royal School of Church Music, 1965) and a copy of the published volume Music for the Holy Communion (Royal School of Church Music, 1965), in which Holman's piece appears.

File contains the manuscript full score, vocal score, various parts, and annotated copies of proofs of the CMC full and vocal scores. Homage to John Aubrey uses text selected from Aubrey's Brief Lives by Robertson Davies, who also wrote the Prologue and Epilogue. It was commissioned by Massey College in the University of Toronto for performance on Gaudy Night, December 13, 1975, through a grant from the Ontario Arts Council. It is dedicated to Gordon Wry.

Homage to Robert Herrick : a cantata for choir and solo voices, accompanied by string quartet, oboe, bassoon and harpsichord, and a reader

File contains the annotated score and parts from a performance on December 16, 1978 at Massey College (Devonshire Place), Dining Hall. Homage to Robert Herrick uses text selected from Herrick's verses and other sources by Robertson Davies, who also wrote the introduction. The piece was commissioned by Massey College, in the University of Toronto, through a grant from the Ontario Arts Council for performance on Gaudy Night (December 16, 1978). It is dedicated to Edmund Semmons. One of the scores is missing pages 1 and 74-78.
