Fonds consists of the administrative records of New Music Concerts (NMC), from its first concert in 1972 to 2020. Records consist of administrative and financial records, including correspondence with composers, performers, and concert venues, budgets, grant applications, and board meeting minutes; concert planning documents, including touring records; and promotion and publicity documents, including programs, brochures, posters, reviews, advertisements, and press releases. The fonds also includes select audio and video recordings of NMC concerts.

Financial records

Series contains budgets, financial reports, grant applications, and records of New Music Concerts' fundraising efforts that contributed to the daily operations of the organization, the presentation of individual concerts, and new works commissioned from composers.

Grant applications and correspondence

Subseries consists of correspondence and copies of New Music Concerts' applications and reports to granting agencies, including Metro Toronto, the Municipality of Metropolitan Toronto, Ontario Arts Council, and Canada Council. NMC applied for grants to support the operational costs of the performing arts organizations, including the costs of presenting their concert season and commissioning new compositions. Grant applications include budgets, artistic director's reports, financial statements, and proposals for concerts and events.

Subseries consists of meeting minutes, agendas, and related correspondence, budgets, and reports from and to the Board of Directors for New Music Concerts, including reports from the artistic director Robert Aitken.

Series contains documents relating to the presentation of individual concerts (including correspondence and contracts); planning documents for each concert season; touring materials; documents relating to New Music Concerts' (NMC) commercially-released compact disc recordings; and records pertaining to the recording and broadcast of NMC concerts by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
