Fonds consists of correspondence/subject files and general files that are primarily related to faculty, other academic staff and courses. Also consists of records related to the Victoria College Council and its committees as well as U of T committees upon which the Principal sat. There are gaps in the records for the brief periods when the Principal's Office was served by the incumbent President: 1928-1932, 1941-1944, and 1966-1967. For records of the Principal's activities during these periods, consult the President's Office fonds (Fonds 2021).

Files on promotions and salary equalization

Sub-series consists of files on procedures for promoting teaching staff, selection of promotion committees, and appraisal of candidates for promotion. A single file documents Victoria's efforts in 1974 to implement a provision of the Memorandum of Understanding with the U. of T. to equalize salaries in comparable departments.

Fellows of Victoria College

Fellows of Victoria College were appointed from the larger U. of T. community to expand the academic and cultural life of the College. They participated in ways both formal (e.g. public lectures) and informal (e.g. presence in Senior Common Room), and received an honorarium, High Table privileges and office space on campus. Junior Fellows were senior graduate students who provided course and career counseling as well as some tutoring to Vic students.

Sub-series consists of files on the nomination, appointment and remuneration of Fellows; changes in the appointment of Fellows after 1982; and a single file on the selection of Junior Fellows.

Files on teaching staff (Departments)

Sub-series consists of files on staff of the College departments of Classics, English, French, German, Philosophy and Religious Studies. Files contain correspondence about contributions of departmental staff, selection of chairs, teaching appointments, salary schedules, sabbatical leaves, and other matters.
