Opera Exchange fonds

Fonds consists of programs, speaking notes, correspondence, and newspaper clippings relating the Opera Exchange, an initiative co-organized by University of Toronto professors Caryl Clark and Linda Hutcheon, in conjunction with the Munk Centre for International studies (2001-2002) and the Canadian Opera Company (COC) (2003-2015).

The Opera Exchange held three symposia per year, with the aim to create a collaborative environment where students, faculty, and members of the public could discuss opera from various perspectives and disciplines, including musicology, literature, drama, history, political science, and gender studies. The program was initially named "The Humanities Initiative" and early symposia focused on works performed by the University of Toronto Opera School, Opera Atelier, and the COC.

Series consists of promotional material relating to the Phil Nimmons Group (also known as Nimmons 'N' Nine), of which Vic Centro was a part. Materials include a promotional flyer for the release of their 2003 CD CBC Air Checks from 1959 to 1964 and a copy of Metronome Music USA (April 1957), which includes an article on "The Phil Nimmons Group" by Peter Tiedemann.

The latter contain programs, correspondence, newspaper clippings, budgets, and other records, and cover the following years: 1948, 1950-1959, 1960-1966, 1970, 1974, and 1979.

Toccata / Paradisi : arranged for string orchestra by Robert Manson

File consists of autograph manuscript scores and parts for Manson's arrangement for string orchestra of the second movement of Pietro Domenico Paradies' (1707-1791) Harpsichord Sonata in A major, P. 893.06. One of the manuscript scores includes an unidentified arrangement or composition for choir (SATB) in Robert Manson's hand.
