This fonds includes six series, divided by format. These are: Textual Material, Photographic Material, Audio Material, Video Material, Cinefilm/Cinex, and Artifacts.

The first series, Textual Material, is chiefly made up of scripts, storyboards, production files, research files, correspondence, meeting notes, equipment files, technical drawings, bylaws, cast/crew lists, contracts and proposals.

The second series, Photographic Material, represents all periods of Spiess’ career, from his early portraiture and fine art images to his industrial/commercial work to production stills documenting his cinematographic work. This series is divided into two subseries: PH.1239 & PH.610977 and PH.240609.

The third series, Audio Material, includes soundtrack production elements and music.

The fourth series, Video Material, includes high quality dubs of the various versions of the finished commercial productions, as well as production elements for those commercials shot on video.

The fifth series, Cinefilms/Cinex, includes finished release prints of the various commercials as well as a number of short films by Spiess.

The sixth series, Artifacts, consists of examples of the tools that Spiess used to teach his students, as well as mementos of his involvement with the CSC.

Accession 2008.014 is divided into 6 series according to format.
These are: Textual and Other Material, Photographic Material, Graphic Material, Audio Material, Video Material, and Artifacts.
The first series, Textual and Other Material, includes scripts related to Nelvana (scripts, business, legal records, development files,correspondence, personal diaries, notebooks and other production-related files). This series also includes 31 series bibles and over 500 books and periodicals.
The second series, Photographic Material, includes photographs related to the animation production process, as well as images of Nelvana staff at work and play.

Accession 2008.015 consists of five series (determined by format), ranging between 1928 and 2005.
These are: Scrapbooks; Appointment Books; Textual Documents; Photographs; and VHS Videotapes.

The first series, Scrapbooks, consists of four oversized, handcrafted scrapbooks likely assembled by Susan Douglas. These scrapbooks document Rubeš’ European opera career, Rubeš’ North American career, Douglas’ career, and their family life.

The second series, Appointment Books, covers the period between 1955 and 2005. These include personal appointment diaries and day timers, as well as a ledger.

The third series, Textual Documents, was largely assembled by the Rubeš’ son, Tony. These files cover the period between 1928 and 2005 and include press clippings, reviews, personal correspondence, mementos, resumes, and biographies.

The fourth series, Photographs, consists of numerous publicity shots, production stills and photographs from 1940 – 2002. The subjects include fellow cast members, colleagues, and family members.

The fifth series, VHS Videotapes, includes several of Rubeš’ performances from the 1950s to 2005. These guest roles in movies and selected television productions characterize the sort of roles that Rubeš played later in his career.

The collection consists of three main items: posters, news and magazine clippings, and Radio Guide magazines. The posters are eclectic in taste, and focus on art, Indigenous rights, and advertisements. The Radio Guide material consists of supporting textual material like correspondence, reports, marketing strategies, and the magazines themselves. The news clippings come from a variety of sources.

This collection consists of material created and collected throughout the life of the donor, Julian Samuel. His time as a photographer, filmmaker, painter, and writer are present. The MAC series includes production and promotional videos for fundraising events and yearly trends. Also includes Film Festival catalogues, Art & Film magazines, zines, newspapers, press clippings, promotional photographs and posters, film stills, publicity photographs, continuity photographs, negatives, and slides.

The collection consists primarily of audio and video recordings done by McClement of musical acts, interviews, and shows. Artists include Nelly Furtado, Shaggy, Neil Young, Rita MacNeil, Ringo Star, The Tragically Hip, David Bowie, Juno Award shows, and many many others.

The Roy Kenner Fonds holds material from across Kenner’s many careers and musical endeavors. His career as a musician and vocalist is represented, with material from the 1960’s to the late 1970’s. Kenner’s voice over work in advertisement and jingles is also well represented. Textual and photographic records capture the many aspects of his life, and include contracts, set lists, promotional photography, notes, and scrapbooks he kept. The Paul Saltzman Fonds spans his whole career, with many records from his most notable work. His time with the Beatles in 1968 is well represented. Multiple transparencies, artist proofs, and exhibition prints are present, including those selected by the Liverpool Airport for their art installation. There are also photos Saltzman took on his return trip to India in 2004 in preparation of his book.

There are multiple video Masters for the Danger Bay series, including Spanish, French, and Czech language masters.
A vast array of production elements are present ( ¼” audio reels, audiocassettes, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, D2 cassettes, ¾” cassettes, VHS, HDCAM, DVDs, CDs, 16mm release prints, 16mm workprints, 16mm internegative, 16mm interpositive, 16mm optical soundtrack, 16mm magnetic soundtrack, 35mm release prints), and include productions Danger Bay, Wings, and Cold L-Z Pow. Multiple hard drives hold electronic files from Aides, Prom Night, and Last White Night.

Photographic and graphic records represent the productions Spread Your Wings, Danger Bay, and My Secret Identity. Some of these photographs are cast/crew photos, framed animation cells, and framed magazine covers.

Many of Saltzman’s awards are included in the Fonds. There are 100 framed certificate awards, 5 statuettes, 1 Emmy award for My Secret Identity, 3 medals, 9 medals in custom boxes and 2 medals encased in acrylic.

The majority of the collection is made of movie posters. These posters where those used to advertise the selection of films being shown at the Aron Cinema. The posters represent a large array of films, from the 1950’s to 2011. Most of the film are popular Hollywood titles. There is a small collection of prints, used as promotional material, and a few reels of 35mm theatrical trailers.

A large portion of the collection focuses on her work with NOW Magazine, specifically “Talk Toronto”. Many of her other published articles are collected here, as well as Festival of Festivals programs, and art show and club posters.

The majority of the records are handwritten letters (written in kuzushiji) received by Tokiwa from Japan and friends across Canada. They are assumed to be from pre-WWII to after the war and his time in Toronto. Some photographs of the people of Ocean Falls, B.C. are also included. Due to the language skills needed to read these letters, no further or detailed descriptions have been created.

Material is comprised mostly of textual records from the founding of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, and some celebrating the success of the Momiji Seniors Centre. Some personal records from Susan Hidaka’s life are also included.
