Photographs of non-Canadian musicians

File contains autographed photographs of the following European musicians: Malwine Brée, Franz Léhar, Theodor Leschetizky, I. J. Paderewski, Hans Pfitzner, and Victoria de los Angeles. File also contains two autographed promotional photographs taken by Eric Hayes of the Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar. Shankar's photographs are not dated.

Memorabilia

File contains signed photographs of various opera singers and composer that Edward Johnson worked with during his career, and a vocal score of acts 1 and 2 of Peter Ibbetson by Deems Taylor (publishers' version for tenor).

Gli Uccelli : set and costume designs

File contains a set design and five costume designs from the ballet Gli Ucelli (The Birds) by Ottorino Respighi from two different performances: Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1937 (set design) and at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy in 1951 (costume designs). File also includes a list of Benois's designs for the latter production, with those included in the collection marked.

File contains letters collected by or given to Edward Johnson from Georges Bizet, Claude Debussy (photograph), Gaetano Donizetti, Jenny Lind, Giacomo Meyerbeer, Adelina Patti/Giuseppe Verdi, Ignacy Paderewski (signed photograph), Giacomo Puccini, and Richard Wagner. Unless otherwise indicated, all items are autograph letters, signed (ALS).

Scrapbook compiled by Milton Blankstein

File consists of a scrapbook compiled by the Milton Blankstein (later, Blackstone), consisting of newspaper clippings of reviews and press notices, photographs, and programs relating to his career in New York City, Toronto, and other Canadian cities. The scrapbook includes a signed photograph of Eugène Ysaÿe and and Boris Hambourg (dated in Toronto, 1918).
