Item is a promotional photograph of Barry Shiffman, violin, an alumnus of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music (BMus 1988) and founding member of the St. Lawrence String Quartet in 1989. Shiffman remained second violin in the quartet until 2006, when Scott St. John replaced him. The string quartet have been visiting artists at the University of Toronto since 1995.
