Accession 2006.001 consists of six series (determined by format), ranging from 1939 to 1998. These are: Textual-Archival, Textual-Published, Photographs, Audiotapes, Audio Discs-Archival, and Audio Discs–Commercial.

The first series, Textual-Archival, consists of correspondence, scripts, call sheets, schedules, cast and crew lists, programs, and clippings. These files are arranged chronologically by genre and production.

The second series, Textual-Published, consists of music scores (most of them annotated), books, and magazines.

The third series, Photographs, consists of production stills, promotional portraits, and family snapshots.

The fourth series, Audiotapes, consists of radio air checks, pre-recorded radio programs, rehearsals, and parts of opera performances.

The fifth series, Audio Discs-Archival, consists of recordings of rehearsals, auditions and radio air checks.

The sixth series, Audio Discs-Commercial, consists of individual 12”, 10” and 7” discs, as well as LP box sets. These are primarily opera music and folk songs.

Records compiled by Professor Martin Friedland in the researching and writing of his University of Toronto: A history (University of Toronto Press, 2002). Included are correspondence files, files on the structure of the project, research notes and material, drafts of the manuscript, correspondence relating to publication matters, addresses, photographs, audiotapes, books, pamphlets and other publications.

The records document how the project was conceived and carried out, including the evolution of the manuscript and discussions over the shaping of the book. One consequence was putting the footnotes on line, a first for the University of Toronto Press, and also issuing them in a separate hardcopy volume. The records document the major issues at the University and, by extension, in higher education in Ontario over more than 175 years. The research reports, correspondence from academics, university administrators and graduates from across North America, original material forwarded by individuals, and the commentaries by some sixty people who read the whole manuscript, together provide extra breadth and depth to this historical record of the University.

Fonds consists of material pertaining to the production of the television pilot film X-Rated and the subsequent 11-episode series Liberty Street. The show ran from 1993 – 1995, and all 11 episodes were broadcast on CBC television. The collection consists of 157 boxes of material spanning all 11 episodes of the show. The fonds is divided into 2 series: Corporate Records and Post-Production Records.

The first series, Corporate Records, consists of 36 boxes. These include correspondence/memos, fan mail, budgets, scripts, promotional materials, financial and banking records, sponsor files, production and continuity stills, character files, legal documents, insurance documents, music cue sheets, and architectural drawings.

The second series, Post-Production Records, consists of 121 boxes. The Roy Kenner Fonds holds material from across Kenner’s many careers and musical endeavors. His career as a musician and vocalist is represented, with material from the 1960’s to the late 1970’s. Kenner’s voice over work in advertisement and jingles is also well represented. Textual and photographic records capture the many aspects of his life, and include contracts, set lists, promotional photography, notes, and scrapbooks he kept. The Baider Fonds contains a large collection of Hindustani vocalists and major related instrumentals. Many of the recording are rare, out of print, and/or difficult to find. The collection reflects the genre’s publications and interest from within Canada and Internationally.

Collection includes a wide variety of musical genres by Canadian artists, including folk, jazz, rock, heavy metal, electronica, punk, hip-hop, R&B, and country.

The collection is made up of both audio/visual elements and textual. The majority of the audio visual portion of the collection is consumer tapes/disc and screening dubs of the films shown at the festival. Other files include press kits for select films. Series 7 is comprised of audio cassette recordings of festival workshops, titled “Independent Filmmaking”. The textual material offers a detailed look at how the festival operated, with application forms, tracking forms, correspondence, film promotional materials, actor resumes, expense sheets, booking venue information, workshop summaries and panelist information, grant writing, festival lists, and a wealth of other textual material. The last series is a collection of mostly festival posters.

This accession contains material collected by the University College Archives. Most of the records have been collected and donated over the course of the College's existence, and range from personal records of prominent faculty members (Barker Fairley, George Needler, John McCaul), and various University College departments and committees, to more ephemeral and biographical reference material generally relating to the College. The accession also contains a large amount of photographs and sounds and moving images, as well as artifacts from the College.

Tape-recordings of an interview with Alan Hill, Assistant Director of Admissions conducted by Elizabeth Wilson, Director of Information Services 3 February 1978; the proceedings of the Council of the Faculty of Arts and Science, 6 March 1978 at which admission policy was subject of discussion; and the proceedings of the Academic Affairs Committee of Governing Council 6 March 1978 at which admission standards were discussed.

Tape-recorded interviews and transcripts of interviews conducted by Elizabeth Wilson, Director of Information Services, with persons active in the University of Toronto Faculty Association, the Governing Council, and the Update Campaign; also a tape-recording and transcript of Professor Kenneth Hare's lecture in the Sesquecentennial Series.

Photographs, slides and negatives taken during Japanese Canadian redress campaign rallies in B.C., Ottawa and Washington, plus audio recordings of redress-related radio programs.

Biographical files, correspondence, course notes, lecture notes, research files, addresses, manuscripts and publications, photographs and slides, audio tapes and film documenting the career of Irvine Glass as a specialist in shock waves and a professor and administrator at the Institute for Aerospace Studies. There are extensive files on his research interests (including the American space program), professional associations and conferences, sabbatical leaves and trips, and on his personal involvement in Jewish issues through the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Canadian Professors for Peace in the Middle East, and the Committee of Concerned Scientists.

Anyone researching Dr. Glass' career will find the several versions of his curriculum vitae in box 001, file 01 useful in gaining an overall view of his career and in determining what he regarded as significant at various stages in it.

Records documenting the life of Martin L. Friedland, as a student, professor of law and administrator at the University of Toronto; as an expert on legal matters and a contributor to the formation of public policy at the provincial and federal levels; and as an author of sixteen books and numerous articles. Also personal records of William Paul McClure Kennedy, professor of law.

Included in this accession is correspondence, certificates and diplomas, diaries, course and lecture notes, memoranda, minutes of meetings, notes, research material, manuscripts, transcripts of oral history interviews, audiotapes, radio scripts, book reviews, books, pamphlets, reports, press clippings, photographs and maps.

This accession consists of photographs and videos documenting the faculty, staff and several events held at the Department of Zoology. Sound recordings consist mainly of recorded lectures from BIO 110. There are also four boxes of administrative files documenting mainly external reviews, planning committees and various reports.

Accession 2003.004 is divided into 2 series according to format. These are: Textual Materials and AudioVisual Records.

The first series, Textual Materials, relates to Hirsh’s activities as CEO of Nelvana Ltd. It is divided into 7 subseries: Development, Legal, Business Affairs, Accounting, Production, Publicity & Distribution, and Photographs. This section also includes 117 pieces of original production artwork (storyboards, animation cels, backgrounds, etc.)

The second series, AudioVisual Records, includes 456 videocassettes and 10 audio documents related to the donor and Nelvana Ltd. Productions. The videos are primarily screening copies, though some document the various stages of production (producer’s cuts, alternative edits, demo reels) and others reflect Hirsh’s interest in animation from outside Canada.

Accession 2008.014 is divided into 6 series according to format.
These are: Textual and Other Material, Photographic Material, Graphic Material, Audio Material, Video Material, and Artifacts.
The first series, Textual and Other Material, includes scripts related to Nelvana (scripts, business, legal records, development files,correspondence, personal diaries, notebooks and other production-related files). This series also includes 31 series bibles and over 500 books and periodicals.
The second series, Photographic Material, includes photographs related to the animation production process, as well as images of Nelvana staff at work and play.
The third series, Graphic Material, includes material from different parts of the production process (animation cells, backgrounds, and cleanups).
