Correspondence, memoranda, reports, field notes, publications, brochures, maps and films relating to Douglas Pimlott's career as zoologist and professor at the University of Toronto. The records relate to provincial commissions and committees (Newfoundland and Ontario) of which he was a member, and includes files on areas of his major research interest: the environment (oil, pollution, Alaska pipeline, pesticides), water policy, provincial resources, and northern development. The field notes are from his study of the moose population in Newfoundland.

This accession documents Francess Halpenny’s activities as a student ; with the Women’s Division of the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II ; with amateur theatre groups ; as editor of the University of Toronto Press and the Dictionary of Canadian Biography ; as dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Library and Information Science ; and as member of numerous academic and professional groups. It also documents Dr. Halpenny’s involvement in promoting social sciences and humanities generally and Canadian Studies in particular ; the honours and awards received throughout her career.

This accession contains one small copy print of the Engineering Society Executive from 1898-99; video tape recordings of the Engineering Alumni and Awards Ceremonies for the years 1989, 1993, 1995-1997; one tape of engineering student production, Skule Nite, for the year 1996. There is also 1 film clip (34 secs) promoting the Engineering Open House, dated in the late 1970s.

Records documenting Skilling's expertise relating to East European studies with particular emphasis on Czechoslovakia and his role in the the Centre for Russian and East European Studies. Contains addresses and speeches; manuscripts and publications including related correspondence and reviews (books included are "Czechoslovakia's Interruped Revolution", "Charter 77 and Human Rights in Czechoslovakia", and "The Czech Renaissance in the Nineteenth Century"); lecture notes; subject files, mainly of associations; sound recording, video and photographs; University of Toronto administrative files including the Centre for Russian and East European Studies, the Department of Polical Economy, Committee on International Studies as well as the Centre for International Studies.

Records documenting the history of the family of Harold Gordon Skilling, including his father, William Watt Skilling; his uncle, Ernest John Skilling; his brothers, William John, Andrew Douglas and Edward Donald; and his wife, Sara (Sally) Bright Skilling.

Sous-fonds I: Skilling family. The emphasis is on William Watt, a shoemaker who emigrated from England to Canada in 1907; on Ernest, who was a very active member of the Ancient Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; on Donald, who was killed in action during World War I, and on his brother, William, who was wounded but survived.

Sous-fonds II: Sara (Sally) Bright Skilling. The records focus on Sally’s education in the United States, her travels with Gordon in Eastern Europe in the 1960s, and on her love of entertaining. They document the crucial support, intellectual and otherwise, that she provided to Gordon as he pursued his career.

Sous-fonds III: Harold Gordon Skilling. The documentation here is primarily on Gordon’s education and early career and his later years as an expert on Russian and East European politics and on Czechoslovakia, in particular. An extensive combination of correspondence, journals, lectures, writings and photographs reveal much about Skilling’s ideas and his relationships with the principal figures in recent Czech history.

Biographical files, correspondence, course notes, lecture notes, research files, addresses, manuscripts and publications, photographs and slides, audio tapes and film documenting the career of Irvine Glass as a specialist in shock waves and a professor and administrator at the Institute for Aerospace Studies. There are extensive files on his research interests (including the American space program), professional associations and conferences, sabbatical leaves and trips, and on his personal involvement in Jewish issues through the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Canadian Professors for Peace in the Middle East, and the Committee of Concerned Scientists.

Anyone researching Dr. Glass' career will find the several versions of his curriculum vitae in box 001, file 01 useful in gaining an overall view of his career and in determining what he regarded as significant at various stages in it.

Records in this accession relate to several series established in B1997-0010, and include personal correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, notebooks and scrapbooks. Also includes many diplomas and honours, artifacts, slides and photographs. Of particular note is documentation relating to J.M. Ham's trip to India as a representative to the World University Services in 1953 as well as personal correspondence with family while a student at MIT in 1946-47.

Photoprints, illustrations, slides, film and video documenting Professor Rappaport's expertise on diseases of the liver. Most were used for teaching and lectures; some of the graphic records were used in publications. Also included in this accession are some biographical files, addresses and publications.

The University of Toronto Caput hearing on the conduct of Tony Leah and William Schabas in preventing the delivery of an address by urbanologist Edward Banfield at the University on March 12, 1974 on the grounds that he held racist views. The hearings were chaired by Prof. Albert Abel.

Promotional DVD produced for Hart House, 2009 Hancock Lecture featuring Nick Bontis of McMaster University entitled : Calibrating Your Future: A Balancing Act Between Social and Technological Pressures. This DVD contains an interview with Dr. Nick Bontis in Hart House on Jan 12 2009. It also contains an early Bontis lecture, edited and produced most likely for promotional purposes. The DVD does not contain the Hancock Lecture that was given at Convocation Hall on Februrary 4 2009.

Eighteen binders of slides, photographs, contact sheets document men's and women's intramural and intercollegiate sports from 1979-1986. Approx. 50 team portraits document the Varsity Hockey and Football teams through the 1950s and early 1960s. Also included are a few portraits of early Varsity teams from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
Also includes three films that were used as teaching tools in the Faculty as well as a copy the NFB film Runner, a documentary on Canadian runner Bruce Kidd.

A2004-0020 represents a large accession of material from the Faculty of Physical Education and Health. The vast majority of the records in this accession are from co-curricular activities carried out by the Faculty. While not physically arranged according to function or subject, the records have been intellectually arranged according to their function as a curricular or co-curricular process, identified further by the specific activity they represent. The first series, entitled Faculty Administration, contains curricular materials which include admission files, records on faculty positions and Faculty Council/SPHE materials. Co-curricular series include; Intramurals, which contains both men's and women's intramural records; Intercollegiate Athletics, which holds records from all men's and women's Varsity sports teams; Facilities, Events and Athletics and Recreation Programs, which includes records for the management of the University's sports stadiums, fields, and arenas; and a series for Alumni, which contains a large amount of records on fundraising and awards. Finally, the Graphic Material series contains photographs and negatives of students, student identification cards and faculty and sporting events. Finally, there are approximately 250 videos of football games (1981-2000).

This accession contains material collected by the University College Archives. Most of the records have been collected and donated over the course of the College's existence, and range from personal records of prominent faculty members (Barker Fairley, George Needler, John McCaul), and various University College departments and committees, to more ephemeral and biographical reference material generally relating to the College. The accession also contains a large amount of photographs and sounds and moving images, as well as artifacts from the College.

Consists of subject files on programme administration, Faculty of Medicine departments, organizations, foundations, committees, studies, task forces, external reviews, resident's programme, mental health programmes, etc. Also includes minutes of the Executive Committee, including documentation, agreements and communications with Sick Kids Hospital and Health Canada.

This accession consists of photographs and videos documenting the faculty, staff and several events held at the Department of Zoology. Sound recordings consist mainly of recorded lectures from BIO 110. There are also four boxes of administrative files documenting mainly external reviews, planning committees and various reports.

Consists of RC Quarterly Reviews and Monthly Bulletins, ca. 1927 - 1979. Also included are approximately 50 photographs of various RCM concerts and 1 video-cassette of an RCM opera production, 1970.

Predominantly consists of records from the Faculty of Education (FEUT) and OISE created prior to the merger in 1996. FEUT records include the records of various FEUT committees such as the Executive Committee (1986-1992), Advisory Board (1968-1995), Faculty Council (1973-1999), Program Development Subcommittee (1974-1995), and the FEUT/OISE Joint Council on Education (1982-1989). Also included are records pertaining to the Institute of Child Study (1979-2000) and to various FEUT centres. OISE records predominantly consist of those of the OISE Board of Governors and Executive Committee (1991-1996). There are also FEUT/OISE merger records for various committees and task forces. Also included are records pertaining to University of Toronto Schools as well as 7 videos.
