University of Toronto. Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics

Contains scanned copies of photographs document the department of Astronomy and in particular the David Dunlap Observatory and Las Campanas telescope in Chili. Includes early views of the David Dunlap Observatory and grounds, memorabilia such as clippings regarding its opening, as well as photographs of telescopes and related instruments. There are also photographs of the University of Toronto Telescope in Chili and early photographs of DDO staff. (Files are jpg format, colour and black and white with a resolution of 200 ppi, print size approx. 3"x4").
Also included in this accession are three electronic copies of the Index to the David Dunlap Doings, the departmental newsletter.

University of Toronto. Art Service (Faculty of Medicine)

Contains eight drawings mounted on a board illustrating a lobectomy. Based on information on the back of the illustrations, they were prepared by Faculty of Medicine Art Service for the Department of Surgery. They were used first by Dr. Norman Shenstone of the Department of Surgery and the Toronto General Hospital and possibly later by Robert M. Janes, head of the Department of Surgery.

Robert Gilford Lawrence Papers

Collection ofresearch notes for articles, essays published and unpublished by Robert G. Lawrence (1923-1995) on American and English actors and theatrical companies that have toured in Canada, especially before 1939. Includes correspondence with the families ofthese actors, and with other historians ofCanadian theatre.

Limited Edition print of W.G. Storm's facsimile water colour rendering of University College, printed in 1990 and distributed to purchasers of "A not unsightly building: University College and its history", by Douglas Richardson.

Henry Scadding Papers

Contains three albums of photographs collected, arranged and annotated by Scadding, which includes photographs taken and collected during the completion of his Doctor of Divinity at Oxford in 1867, in locales including England, Wales, France, Switzerland and Belgium. Also includes reproductions of historical and religious art, as well as collectable photographs of well-known writers, preachers and Oxford professors. Albums also include early photographs of Toronto, including large residences, monuments and the University of Toronto. Collection contains a small amount of personal papers including a composite book on the history of Cornwall and Devon, letters and an insurance policy for Scadding’s furniture and library.

Toronto Conservatory of Music

Contains Miss Adelaide McDonald Heath's certificate for having completed the Toronto Conservatory of Music collegiate course of Instruction in Literature and Expression in 1902.

Galbraith 2nd 1987 accession

Glass plate negatives and lantern slides depicting the investigation headed by Galbraith into the 1907 Quebec Bridge disaster.

Cody Family 1st 1965 accession

Henry John Cody's files relating to the activities of the Ontario Royal Commission on the University of Toronto which reported in 1906, and of which he was a member. Included are minute books, correspondence, questionnaires, statements and submissions, reports, pamphlets, calendars, and press clippings; also drafts of the Report and of the bill which became "An Act respecting the University of Toronto and University College, 1906."

Views of the maiden flight of the White Wind at Hammondsport, 18 May 1908; take-off of the Silver Dart at Baddeck Bay, 23 February 1909, marking the first powered flight in Canada and the first in the British Empire by a British subject.
Accompanying material: 3 pamphlets relating to the Beauharnois Power Development Project with which Max Veitch Sauer was associated.

Two books from the library of A.S.P. Woodhouse, with annotations by him, being "Poems" by John Keats, ed. Arlo Bates (Boston: Ginn & Co. 1896, Athenaeum Press Series ) and the "Faerie Queen" by Edmund Spenser, Volume II (London: J.M. Dent, 1914, Everymans Library).

Consists of student registration cards for those registered in the Bachelor of Applied Science program (1892-1915), and the Diploma program (1884-1912). The accession also consists of registration cards for students enrolled in special programs (1884-1903), and for those who never completed their studies (1885-1911). Each registration card includes a student name, their years of attendance, and their program focus/major. Some cards indicate classes taken and reasons for not completing the program.

Wrong Family 1980 accession

Photographs of members of the Wrong family including George M., E.Murray, Harold V. and H. Hume, in activities relating to their education at Upper Canada College, the University of Toronto, and to Harold's military training during the First World War. There is also a photo of the Wycliffe College students, 1885-1886.
