Notes from Pendle Hill conversations

File consists of 30 pages of photocopied notes taken by John S. Mogabgab during his meeting with Henri Nouwen and Parker Palmer at Pendle Hill in 1977-1978. Nouwen's own records contain notes from Meeting 4. The photocopies were made by Mogabgab for Sue Mosteller. Mosteller has annotated the photocopies with her own notes.

File consists of thirty-three letters and three postcards from Henri Nouwen to John Mogabgab (some addressed to John Mogabgab and Marjorie Thompson), two pages of notes from a meeting between Mogabgab and Nouwen, and one postcard from Laurent Nouwen to Mogabgab. Letters and notes were written predominantly between 1977 and 1984, with one letter from 1995. The letters reflect Mogabgab's position as teaching assistant, collaborator, and co-lecturer. As such they contain administrative instructions regarding classes, grading, and students, instructions for writing projects, and writing advice for Mogabgab.

File consists of three letters from America. Letter from October 26, 1978, is from Joseph A. Tetlow, S.J., Literary Editor, on behalf of America, asking Nouwen to review the book Life of Jesus by Shusaku Endo for America. Letters from July 24 and June 16, 1978, are addressed to John Mogabgab and are regarding the printing of Nouwen's article, "Unceasing Prayer." Correspondents from letters to Mogabgab are Mary Sabolik, Editorial Offices, and Joseph A. O'Hare, S.J.
