[Letter from Viktor Zuckerkandl to Olga Fröbe-Kapteyn, February 6, 1960]

Zuckerkandl addresses Fröbe-Kapteyn’s recent poor health and asks if she can recommend a medical center for Zuckerkandl’s wife [Marianne]. He is concerned that his title [for the 1960 conference] might be vague or misleading, so he proposes an alternative [“Tongestalt als Selbsterkenntnis”]. On the back, handwritten on February 7, he proposes two more titles [“Musik: die hörbare Gestalt der Welt und der Menschen,” “Die Tongestalt als Hörbild der Welt und der Menschen”].

The fonds covers Dr. Borins’ research on film, history, biography, and other topics relating to business, information technology, automobile manufacturing, and financial trading. Types of documents include Dr. Borins’ notes and summaries, drafts of writings, articles, and course notes.

The aforementioned research resulted in the publication of Dr. Borin’s book titled Negotiating Business Narratives: Fables of the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Financial Trading Industries published by Palgrave Pivot in 2018.

[Letter from Viktor Zuckerkandl to Olga Fröbe-Kapteyn, March 11, 1960]

Zuckerkandl discusses another clinic Fröbe-Kapteyn recommended, which he and his wife Marianne will not visit. He goes on to express his excitement with the program and lecturers at the upcoming Eranos conference [August 1960]. Zuckerkandl has learned that the Végh quartet will be performing two concerts and asks if he can know their program beforehand, so that he may make connections to it during his own lecture. Indicates the title of his lecture will be “Die Tongestalt.”

Letters and correspondence primarily from George Tanaka to Kasey Oyama. Reports and information from the Japanese Canadian Citizens' Association (JCCA) to be published in the New Canadian. These reports cover the issues of Japanese Canadians re-entery into Canada after WWII, and the forced sale of properties. Letters are also from the The Civil Rights Defence Committee, The Japanese Canadian Committee for Democracy (JCCD), and The Co-Operative Committee on Japanese Canadians. A proposal for a national organization submitted by the Council for Ontario Japanese Canadian Organizations. Communication also includes information on the JCCD Economic Losses Survey. News reports to be publsihed about the formation of a Toronto JCCA chapter.
