Consists of 134 slides depicting the University of Toronto campus in the early 1980s. These images were taken by photographer Rudi Christl for use in "University of Toronto: A Souvenir" published by Oxford press in 1984. It also includes images that were taken for the book and not used as well as a series of images of Osgoode Hall.

There are general campus views as well as exterior and interior shots of campus buildings including: University College, Victoria College, Trinity College, St. Michael's College, New College, Wycliff College, Innis College as well as Scarborough and Erindale Colleges; other buildings include Sir Daniel Wilson residence, Flavelle House, Hart House, Sidney Smith Hall, the Athletic Centre, Newman Centre, Botany Greenhouses, Cumberland House, Sandford Fleming, McLennan Laboratories; libraries include: Robarts, Sigmund Samuel and Science and Medicine. This accession also includes several slides of Osgood Hall.

Slides also capture events on campus. For example, there are shots of homecoming floats and parade, student registration, student in study halls, convocation procession, engineering student march, skating and football on the back campus and student theatrical performances - to list only a few.

This accession comprises the entire fonds of personal letters of Mrs. Elspeth Clark to her mother, Mrs. Isabella Bertram Fripp, dating from embarkation by ship with her two children, Edwin and Shirley, in July 1940 until May, 1944, shortly before their return to England. The letters written on a weekly basis describe travel conditions aboard ship and overland to Toronto, and details regarding day to day life of herself and her children as guests of the CBOC in Toronto. Details of daily life include living conditions, children’s schooling (Edwin at U.T.S. and Shirley at Bishop Strachan) illnesses and other medical needs, summer camps, and Mrs. Clark’s work with the Red Cross, Hart House, and the War Guest Mothers’ Club, among others. In addition to the letters from Mrs. Clark are also the occasional enclosed letters of her children, Edwin and Shirley, to their grandmother. Additional notes by her son, E.F. clarify context of some information such as her memoir. Letter log books (1940-1949) provide dates, to whom sent and summary of contents of each letter. The log books also include lists, name and addresses and other notes relating to their stay in Toronto. Also included are photographs documenting Mrs. Clark, her children and other people relating to their stay in Canada.

A second photo photo album covers his student days at the University of Toronto 1914-1918, while he was at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. Also includes biographical items detailing his work with H.W. Price in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering and with the Hydro-electric Commission of Ontario including photographs of an automatic regulator designed by Price and Duff. Two scrapbooks compiled by Jabez Henry Elliott, professor of the History of Medicine, documenting his attendance at the 10 and 11th International Congresses on the History of Medicine that were held in Madrid and Toledo, Spain in 1935 and in Yugoslavia in 1938, respectively. Elliott was sent as the representative for the University of Toronto. The first scrapbook contains programmes, a running typed report on the conference, press coverage, annotated photographs, conference pamphlets and brochures (including one on the history of medicine). The second scrapbook includes his report to President Cody on the conference . It also contains tourist brochures and maps of the period, postcards and original photographs of sites throughout Yugoslavia including Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Mostar and Dubrovnik. Also includes memorabilia such as invitations and programmes attended by Elliott during his stay.

B2000-0018: One surveying instrument called a planimeter, which was made in 1893 and used by John Galbraith, the first Head of the Ontario School of Practical Science and later, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.

B2003-0015: Three photographs originally belonging to engineering graduate Chester B. Hamilton Jr. documenting engineering students at the University of Toronto. Hamilton received a Diploma in 1906, a B.A.Sc in 1908 and an M.E. in 1920. Collection of letters exchanged between William Brown (1917-1948), Royal Canadian Engineers Lieutenant, and Wilma Brown (née Perry) (1921-2003), Royal Canadian medical Corps Lieutenant, during World War II, in addition to related photographs.

William Brown (1917-1948) and Wilma Brown (née Perry) (1921-2003) met aboard the S. S. Bayano, a 6800-ton banana boat converted to transport troops from Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Britain, in November 1943. Bill and Wilma were stationed in different parts of Europe, but stayed in contact by mail over the next two years. The couple married in 1945 and returned to Canada after the War, settling in Val d’Or, Quebec, where Bill worked as an engineer at the East Sullivan Gold Mine. They had one child together. Bill was killed in a mine accident on April 15, 1948. Wilma became a Professor of Anatomy at the University of Toronto, where she retired from in 1985. She passed away November 20, 2003.

B1985-0004: Consists of subject files on University departments and divisions, University College programmes, committees, associations, task forces, as well as other universities (including Canadian and foreign). Most of the files deal with issues surrounding the French Department, undergraduate and graduate French courses, including records on course outlines, examinations, and bibliographies (17 boxes, 1938-1985).

B1993-0014: Correspondence, minutes, announcements, invitations, memoranda and reports assembled by Professor Hayne while carrying out administrative and teaching duties at University College and the Department of French, University of Toronto (1 box, 1985-1992)

B2009-0013: This accession consists of correspondence and subject files on individuals who were colleagues of Prof. Hayne during his 40 years in the Department of French at the University of Toronto. It complements other accessions within this fonds (see list below) since many of the letters relate to the discipline of French language and literature in particular and University College and the University of Toronto in general. Correspondents include, among others, F.A.C. Jeanneret, his former teacher as an undergraduate and other colleagues at University College in the Department of French such as, Paul Perron (Chair, Department of French), C.D. Rouillard, Douglas V. le Pan, among others, and Victoria College such as Northrup Frye and David Smith. (1 box 1956-2008).
