Musicians' promotional recordings

Series consists of compact disc recordings from performers at Gallery 345 that were shared with and collected by Edward Epstein as part of the promotional material for the venue. Some recordings are autographed by the performers. Recordings including self-released albums, commercial releases, and unpublished recordings.

Programs, posters, and other ephemera

Series consists of programs and posters from concerts held at Gallery 345, as well as thank you cards and notes from performers, and building plans for the gallery space and building (345 Souraren Ave., Toronto, Ontario). Series also includes a USB thumb drive (173 MB) with archived files from the Gallery 345 website, including performance announcements, program information, and performer biographies.

Series consists of recordings of concerts that took place at Gallery 345. Concerts included "The Art of Piano" series and "Jazz at the Gallery" series as well as CD release concerts, New Music Concerts (NMC) fundraisers, Arraymusic concerts, and other standalone performances.

Series consists of 5 sub-series that include the records created by the Board of Regents (minutes, reports, notes) and its preceding entity, the Victoria College Board as well as the records of the Chairman of the Board and the Secretary of the Board. Also contains records received by the Board including correspondence and reports and records related to arbitration related to the move from Cobourg to Toronto.

Graphic records

This series consists of photographs of Professor Nesselroth at academic events throughout his career, including the award ceremony for the Ordre des Palmes académiques, and ceremonies at the University of Toronto with Saul Bellow and Julia Kristeva.

Addresses

This series consists of addresses given by Professor Nesselroth at various conferences and seminars throughout his academic career. They cover subjects such as semiotics, French literature, literary theory, Surrealism, Dadaism, and figures such as Isidore Ducasse (Lautréamont), Jacques Lacan, Jacques Derrida, Roman Jakobson, and Marshall McLuhan. Documents include drafts of addresses, some research material consulted, and conference programs and itineraries, some of which are in French.

Manuscripts and publications

This series consists of academic articles written by Professor Nesselroth spanning his academic career. They cover subjects such as French literature, Surrealism, Dadaism, semiotics, poetics, literary theory, and psychoanalytics, as well as figures such as Jacques Derrida, Isidore Ducasse (Lautréamont), and Marshall McLuhan. Many of the articles are written in French. The documents include off-prints of articles published in journals and books as well as drafts of several articles, some with annotations and corrections. Some research material used in the articles are included as well.

Teaching material

This series consists of course notes and readings for graduate courses in Comparative Literature and French Studies taught by Professor Nesselroth at the University of Toronto. The majority of the courses are on literary subjects, including French and literature and literary figures, such as Isidore Ducasse (Lautréamont), as well as psychoanalytics and semiotics. Documents relating to the
courses include course reading lists, lecture notes, assignments, handouts and syllabi, some of which are in French. There are also documents relating to the Centre for Comparative Literature, including the proposed elimination of the Centre in 2010. Correspondence and project descriptions for the Camargo Foundation, a one year fellowship in Cassis, France, are also included.

Professional correspondence

This series consists of Professor Nesselroth’s professional correspondence. It includes letters received from academic figures such as Jacques Derrida and Marshall McLuhan, as well as containing correspondence with colleagues such as Julia Kristeva and Ricardo Sternberg.

Biographical

This series consists of academic honours received by Professor Nesselroth as well as his M.A. and Ph.D. theses. There is also a 50th anniversary festschrift created by his friends and students.

Records related to buildings and grounds

The Bursar's responsibilities with regard to property were initially the insurance of buildings and their contents. However, as the need for regular income became more urgent and evident, and as the University expanded and required more buildings, the Bursar's work likewise increased. The Bursar became responsible for the legal negotiations and accounting over purchases, sales and leases; and the supervision and funding of alterations and renovations and the construction of new buildings. Along with this, the Bursar dealt with property tax as the University was only exempt from this in respect to its property used for academic purposes.

Series consists of correspondence, studies, reports, appraisals, financial administration, agreements, plans, specifications and other records relating to the planning, expansion, renovating, maintenance, repair and construction work on campus buildings and grounds, as well as the establishment and funding of Victoria Theatre, the Isabel Bader Theatre, and the Vic Tennis Club.

Records related to general administration

Series consists of general administrative files of the Bursar's office, general correspondence files, 1846–1984; and files containing correspondence, reports, notes, flow charts and other records regarding administrative restructuring and business with other senior administrative officers. Also contains records of activities and functions of which the Bursar was involved, including the oversight of Book Bureau, etc.

Records related to Theological Education

Consists of correspondence, financial statements and other records relating predominantly to students who were candidates for the ordained ministry in the United Church, as well as academic staff who were United Church ministers, 1925-1984.

Also includes correspondence relating to the initial funding of the Toronto School of Theology and Emmanuel College's involvement, as well as the Kaplan Fund, 1969-1991.

Records relating to staff and human resources

Series consists of correspondence, personnel position descriptions, salaried job positions and other records relating to salaries, insurance schemes and pensions of all the staff at the University, 1940-1990; personnel files, including pension material, 1932, 1955-2005; and salaried position descriptions, reviews and related correspondence and other records, 1989-2008.
