Music for Nimmons 'N' Nine

Series consists of music composed or arranged for "The Group," later named "Nimmons 'N' Nine." Most of the charts are written by Phil Nimmons, with a few contributions from other members of the ensemble. Nimmons formed this group in 1953 and they performed regularly on CBC radio. They made their concert debut in 1956 at the Summer Festival in Stratford. In 1965, the ensemble expanded to "Nimmons 'N' Nine Plus Six."

CBC Wednesday night

Subseries consists of scripts, scores, and parts for the weekly radio program "CBC Wednesday Night," later rebranded "CBC Wednesday Night" and finally "CBC Tuesday Night". Phil Nimmons regularly wrote incidental music for radio plays broadcast on this program.

CBC Concert Party

Subseries consists of scores and parts by Phil Nimmons for the "CBC Concert Party," a series of performances to the United Nations Emergency Force, organized and produced by Ken Dalziel. The performances were filmed and aired on CBC television. Phil Nimmons and Nimmons 'N' Nine participated in the following tours:

Big Geordie : incidental music for radio play

File contains incidental music for orchestra for a CBC broadcast on Tuesday Night on February 27, 1966 and replayed in January 7, 1967. The file includes a re-write for cue no. 1 and additional brass parts for the January 1967 version. The script is by J. Frank Willis.

Gordie Tapp Show

Subseries consists of scores and parts by Phil Nimmons for the Gordie Tapp Show, a variety program that aired on CBC radio every weekday from 1:15 to 1:45 pm. Each week featured a different musical group and guest performers. The first week (October 4-8) featured Phil Nimmons' Group (Nimmons 'N' Nine) with Allan Blye and Marci Lynne.
