Fonds consists of the professional records of filmmaker, producer, and media consultant Midi Onodera. Including film shorts and feature films that consist of raw footage, outs, and masters, director’s reel, music cues, sound files, waivers, contracts, scripts, production binders, press kits, budgets, copyright information, funding applications, distribution information, cast & crew lists, CV’s, and biographical information. The MAC series includes production and promotional videos for fundraising events and yearly trends. Also includes Film Festival catalogues, Art & Film magazines, zines, newspapers, press clippings, promotional photographs and posters, film stills, publicity photographs, continuity photographs, negatives, and slides.

Many of Bevington’s papers relating to Coach House Press business reside with Library and Archives Canada.

This fonds is divided into 5 series, divided by format. These are: Cinefilm, Video Materials, Audio Materials, Photographic Materials, Textual Records.

The first series, Cinefilm, contains original prints in both b&w and colour. It includes home movies, newsreels, as well as Spiess’s debut film Die Thomaner.

The second series, Video Materials, contains Digital Betacam cassettes. These include transfers of commercials, home movies, and Die Thomaner.

The third series, Audio Materials, includes soundtrack elements and radio commercials.

The fourth series, Photographic Materials includes behind the scenes photos of commercial shoots, family portraits, and glass negatives by Spiess’s father, Karl.

The fifth series, Textual Materials, includes papers relating to the formation of the first accrual of the Fritz Spiess archive. It also includes several periodicals that featured work by Spiess and technical literature about technologies of the day.

This accession contains records dealing with the establishment of the Institute of Life Course and Aging and associated programs in Gerontology. It also contains publications and reference material that was co-produced, supported or housed by the Institute, such as Issues of an Aging Workforce, Elder Abuse Ontario and Canadian Aging Research Network (CARNET) material. Records also include Institue review files, audit reports, meeting minutes and strategic planning material. Also contains PhD Student records (1997-2009).

Judith Robertson Papers

This third accession of Judith Robertson’s papers is made up of two major components: material relating to the life and work of Canadian diplomat Charles Ritchie, and material relating to Robertson’s family, and to her own work. The Charles Ritchie material includes some of his original correspondence with his niece, Elizabeth Ritchie, along with extensive diary entries (1920-1973), made while he was working abroad with the Canadian Department of External Affairs. This collection also contains a number of original photographs from the same period, featuring numerous noteworthy Canadians, along with material relating to Ritchie’s literary estate. Also included are a number of books and periodicals owned by Ritchie, as well as a number of Irish novelist Elizabeth Bowen’s published works, inscribed to Ritchie by Bowen.

The material relating to Judith Robertson revolves mainly around her work as the executor of Charles Ritchie’s literary estate, as well as around her role as co-editor of the work Love's Civil War: Elizabeth Bowen and Charles Ritchie (Toronto: McClelland & Stewart, 2008). In addition, this collection includes correspondence and documents kept by Norman A. Robertson, Judith Robertson’s father, who also worked as a diplomat in the Department of External Affairs with Charles Ritchie.

The collection consists of three main items: posters, news and magazine clippings, and Radio Guide magazines. The posters are eclectic in taste, and focus on art, Indigenous rights, and advertisements. The Radio Guide material consists of supporting textual material like correspondence, reports, marketing strategies, and the magazines themselves. The news clippings come from a variety of sources.

This accession of Maureen Scott Harris’ papers includes a significant amount of personal correspondence from the 1960s to the present, along with professional correspondence, mainly from 2015. It also contains materials relating to the Renga 10 collaborative poetry project, and to the Abundance chapbook and event, in addition to a number of periodicals in which Scott Harris’ poetry has been published. The collection also includes Scott Harris’ notes from a course taught by Northrup Frye at the University of Toronto in 1982-1983, along with promotional material from Brick Books, and a variety of audio/visual material.

Susan Hidaka accession

Material is comprised mostly of textual records from the founding of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, and some celebrating the success of the Momiji Seniors Centre. Some personal records from Susan Hidaka’s life are also included.

2017 acquisition

The Roy Kenner Fonds holds material from across Kenner’s many careers and musical endeavors. His career as a musician and vocalist is represented, with material from the 1960’s to the late 1970’s. Kenner’s voice over work in advertisement and jingles is also well represented. Textual and photographic records capture the many aspects of his life, and include contracts, set lists, promotional photography, notes, and scrapbooks he kept. This accession contains material collected by the University College Archives. Most of the records have been collected and donated over the course of the College's existence, and range from personal records of prominent faculty members (Barker Fairley, George Needler, John McCaul), and various University College departments and committees, to more ephemeral and biographical reference material generally relating to the College. The accession also contains a large amount of photographs and sounds and moving images, as well as artifacts from the College.

2017 acquisition

The majority of the collection is made of movie posters. These posters where those used to advertise the selection of films being shown at the Aron Cinema. The posters represent a large array of films, from the 1950’s to 2011. Most of the film are popular Hollywood titles. There is a small collection of prints, used as promotional material, and a few reels of 35mm theatrical trailers.

Masaji George Tokiwa accession

The majority of the records are handwritten letters (written in kuzushiji) received by Tokiwa from Japan and friends across Canada. They are assumed to be from pre-WWII to after the war and his time in Toronto. Some photographs of the people of Ocean Falls, B.C. are also included. Due to the language skills needed to read these letters, no further or detailed descriptions have been created.

Marshall Hryciuk Papers

This accession consists primarily of small press materials – imprints, chapbooks, zines, broadsides, as well as a number of small press catalogues – that Hryciuk has collected over the years. It’s a broad selection, and includes materials from many noted Canadian small press publishers, including Curvd H&z, Underwhich Editions, Gesture, above/ground press, Unfinished Monuments, and numerous self-published materials. Among the authors represented are bp nichol, jw curry, Stuart Ross, David UU, Mark Laba, Rob McLennan and Gary Barwin, among many others.

Marshall Hryciuk Papers

Consists of material – including manuscripts and proofs – for Prose Karen (Toronto: Nietzsche’s Brolly, [2007]), an anthology of poetry, prose and concrete/visual poetry, edited by Marshall Hryciuk. It also includes correspondence and other material related to Hryciuk’s work.

2018 acquisition

A large portion of the collection focuses on her work with NOW Magazine, specifically “Talk Toronto”. Many of her other published articles are collected here, as well as Festival of Festivals programs, and art show and club posters.

2017.030 acquisition

The Paul Saltzman Fonds spans his whole career, with many records from his most notable work. His time with the Beatles in 1968 is well represented. Multiple transparencies, artist proofs, and exhibition prints are present, including those selected by the Liverpool Airport for their art installation. There are also photos Saltzman took on his return trip to India in 2004 in preparation of his book.

There are multiple video Masters for the Danger Bay series, including Spanish, French, and Czech language masters.
A vast array of production elements are present ( ¼” audio reels, audiocassettes, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, D2 cassettes, ¾” cassettes, VHS, HDCAM, DVDs, CDs, 16mm release prints, 16mm workprints, 16mm internegative, 16mm interpositive, 16mm optical soundtrack, 16mm magnetic soundtrack, 35mm release prints), and include productions Danger Bay, Wings, and Cold L-Z Pow. Multiple hard drives hold electronic files from Aides, Prom Night, and Last White Night.

Photographic and graphic records represent the productions Spread Your Wings, Danger Bay, and My Secret Identity. Some of these photographs are cast/crew photos, framed animation cells, and framed magazine covers.

Many of Saltzman’s awards are included in the Fonds. There are 100 framed certificate awards, 5 statuettes, 1 Emmy award for My Secret Identity, 3 medals, 9 medals in custom boxes and 2 medals encased in acrylic.
