Interview with Wendy Lywood

File consists of an interview with Wendy Lynwood interviewed by Gabrielle Earnshaw at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto (Toronto, ON). Lynwood lives and works as an assistant at L'Arche Daybreak (Richmond Hill, ON) and teaches a course in Parish Leadership in the Ministry at Wycliffe College. Lynwood met Nouwen when she joined the L'Arche Daybreak community in 1992. Lynwood recalls Nouwen's relationship with children and core members, grief counselling for Connie Ellis and events at Dayspring chapel at L'Arche Daybreak. Themes present in Lynwood's interview include illness, FISH, community, the Eucharist, depression, Nouwen's legacy and the role of women in the church. The interview is transcribed and is available electronically or in hard copy.

Series consists of handwritten and typed correspondence between Henri Nouwen and his family. Some letters are to those outside the Nouwen family. Majority of the correspondence is in Dutch.

Recordings of Henri Nouwen speaking on his time in the seminary

File consists of one audio cassette featuring a recording of Henri Nouwen speaking about his time at Rijsenburg seminary where he studied Theology. Nouwen was asked to record his memories from this period in his life by Henk Egbers, a former classmate at Rijsenburg, who was writing on the subject of Rijsenburg seminary.

Recordings of introduction to the spiritual life lectures 1984

File consists of twenty audio cassettes featuring lectures given during Nouwen's Introduction to the Spiritual Life course at Harvard Divinity School in spring 1984. SR2002 41 01 v1 is titled "Spiritual Listening" and was given on February 7, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v2 is titled "Speaking Spiritually" on side one and was given on February 9, 1984. The lecture on side two is titled "Listening and Speaking" and was given on February 14, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v3 is titled "Reading" and was given on February 16, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v4 is titled "Stendhal - Worship" and was given on February 21, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v5 is titled "Writing" and was given on February 23, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v6 is titled "Waiting" and was given on February 28, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v7 is titled "In Expectation" and was given on March 6, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v8 is titled "Prayer" and was given on March 8, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v9 is titled "Hiddeness" and was given on March 13, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v10 is titled "Compassion" and was given on March 15, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v11 is titled "Downward Mobility" and was given on March 20, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v15 is titled "Love #1" and was given on April 12, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v16 is titled "Love #2" and was given on April 17, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v17 is titled "Suffering and New Life" and was given on April 19, 1984. SR2002 41 01 v18 is titled "L'Arche" and was given on April 24, 1984. This lecture features Jean Vanier as a guest lecturer. SR2002 41 01 v19 is titled "Holy Spirit and Mission" and includes parts one and two of this lecture. SR2002 41 01 v20 is also titled "Holy Spirit and Mission" and includes part three and the conclusion of the lecture. SR2002 41 01 v19 and v20 were given on April 26, 1984. This was the final lecture for the course. It is believed that two lectures are missing as class dates for March 1 and April 10 1984, referenced in the class schedule in file 2002 41 01 are not present. File also contains a class meetings schedule for the spring 1984 semester.

File consists of a death notice for Truus Derkx-Nouwen (November 28, 1911 - January 16, 2006). Further inquiry to Laurent Nouwen revealed that Truus was Nouwen's fraternal aunt.
