File consists of correspondence, mainly with Rev. Edmond Browning, Presiding Bishop, the Episcopal Church, and other material regarding Nouwen giving a talk at the General Convention of the Episcopal Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Includes copies of some addresses given to the executive council of the Episcopal Church by Rev. Edmond Browning with notes written by Nouwen on them. Nouwen attended the event with Sue Mosteller, Wendy Lywood, and Thelus George. Includes travel itinerary and expenses, schedules, programs, and Episcopalian reference material, some articles have been highlighted by Nouwen. Also includes Nouwen's handwritten notes for his talk on the theme of "Community."

Mattox, Jr., Vice President for Policy, on behalf of the Family Research Council (Washington, D.C.), inviting Nouwen to attend the World Congress of Families from March 19-22, 1997, in Prague. The congress will allow participants to gather information to "restore the family in your community, country and throughout the world." The Family Research Council is a pro-family group that is one of the sponsors of the congress. Letter includes a pamphlet with information on the conference.

File consists of one letter from Heather Finton, writing expressing appreciation for Nouwen's writing. Finton also asks Nouwen if he would review a manuscript she'd written reflecting on time she spent as a volunteer in an orphanage in southern Brazil.
