This fonds contains only a small amount of the body of work produced by Prof. Curry during his more than thirty years as an academic and scholar specializing in the theoretical studies in economic geography. The fonds is arranged in three series. Series 1 Correspondence includes correspondence in chronological from his period teaching at the University of Maryland through his career at the University of Toronto as well as subject files. Series 2 Manuscripts is the largest series by volume and contains 25 files relating to both published and unpublished papers, representing less than 50% of his body of work. There is only one file relating to geography courses taught during his time at the University of Toronto. There are no records documenting his studies in England, the United States or New Zealand.

This collection consists of architectural plans and photos for structures designed  in whole and in part  by architect Rein Raimet.

Fonds consists of the records of Anne Lancashire, documenting her career as a Professor of English at the University of Toronto from her appointment in 1965 at the University College English Department, and her cross-appointment to Drama in 1975 and Cinema Studies in 1985, until her retirement in 2012, as well as her several administrative positions at the University. Her research, publications and administration positions held for several professional associations are also documented. The content of the fonds primarily document the last 40 years of her work, but there is some coverage of her early teaching career and research. The fonds provides a significant record of her work as a faculty and administration member of the University of Toronto, her extensive research and scholarship, and her involvement in several professional associations relating to English literature and drama.

Personal records of Frederick Beamish, an analytical chemist and specialist in gold and platinum and Professor of Chemistry, consisting of general correspondence (1960-1969); his address on receiving an honorary degree from McMaster University (1962); correspondence relating to the publication of the first edition (1966) of his book, "Analytical Chemistry of Noble Metals" (1960-1971); correspondence regarding and reviews of the second edition (1971) of his book, titled "Recent Advances in the Analytical Chemistry of Noble Metals" (1968-1972); his obituary of John Bright Ferguson.

Collection consists predominantly of research and draft materials for The Laws of Media (University of Toronto Press, 1988) as well as related correspondence. Beginning in the early 1970's, at the instigation of McGraw-Hill (the original publisher of McLuhan's 1964 work, Understanding Media) Marshall and Eric McLuhan began generating materials towards what was first conceived of as a revised edition of Understanding Media and subsequently as The Laws of Media, a new work in its own right.

The collection contains editorial correspondence, typescripts, translations and galley proofs for a variety of Contact Press publications. Among the works covered in the editorial files include Octavio Paz's Sun-stone, Margaret Atwood's The Circle Game (winner of the Governor-General's award), Anne Hebert's Le tombeau des rois, Alan Grandbois' Selected Poems and Gaston Miron's La vie agonique. It also includes a typescript of Miller's unpublished selection of poems, Afterimages.

Includes extensive correspondence from writers, 1960s-2000s, to Arlene Lampert. The correspondence
is primarily personal in nature. Photographs from the University of Toronto Writers’ Workshops held in
Toronto and The Bahamas, 1972-1978, form part of this accession. The photographs include many wellknown

Correspondence, notes, memoranda, reports, manuscripts, articles, brochures, reviews, photoprints and maps documenting the production of the Economic Atlas of Ontario which appeared in 1969. The project was directed by Professor William Dean of the Department of Geography.

The production of the Economic Atlas of Ontario was undertaken by the Department of Geography at the University of Toronto by a group of staff and graduate students headed by Professor William Dean. The principal financial sponsors were the Ontario Department of Economics and Development and the University of Toronto through the "Varsity Fund".

Its purpose was to provide new insights into the complexity of economic activities in Ontario and their relationship to the physical and behavioural environments. When the Atlas appeared in 1969, it was immediately recognized as a superlative example of its genre, both for the information it provided and for its design. In 1970 it won the world's highest international design award, the gold medal at the International Book Fair in Leipzig. In 1973 it received the Wallace W. Atwood Prize for "the work which is of greatest significance and which has made the greatest contribution to the field of geography in the continent".

Collection consists of records of the activities of the John Adaskin Project, formerly the Graded Educational Music Plan, started by John Adaskin in 1961 at the Canadian Music Centre. Records include notes and drafts of articles, lectures, presentations, and workshops on the project; records and correspondence relating to commissions by the project; correspondence with contributors and educators; guidelines for submissions; lists of publications; and records from the first three symposiums and seminars hosted by the project (1963, 1965, and 1967).

Includes correspondence, notes, teaching materials, files on research in Italy and on exhibitions and performance. Also includes files on visiting lectureships, especially at the Nanjing Institute of Technology/South East University in Nanjing, China (1987-1988), architectural drawings, photographs, slides, posters, publications, film and video.

Consists of records documenting Blanche van Ginkel's career as a professor of architecture in the Faculty/School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, mainly from 1977 to 1990.

The records of the Trinity College Encounter Club include minutes, lists of members and activities, financial records, and records of the Conference of African Affairs and the Conference on the Canadian Indian. Issues of The Encounter are also contained in this fonds.

This collection consists of the bulk of material including the research, manuscript drafts, proofs and correspondence for most of Bacque's fiction and non-fiction works, both published and unpublished. It also includes a large collection of POW correspondence Bacque received after publishing his book Other Losses, which he used for research into his follow-up, Crimes and Mercies. Other material in the collection include manuscripts for Bacques journalism work, along with correspondence and editing work he did with Seal Books in the 1970s.

Copies of material on T. F. McIlwraith, professor of Anthropology, including his memorial volume. Also copies of some original correspondence and addresses of McIwraith.

Personal records of Allan Griffin, Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of Toronto. Includes notes and drafts for research and articles, correspondence with students and colleagues, notebooks from Griffin’s own education, teaching resources such as lecture notes, drafts and transparencies for addresses, and a large number of reprints of Professor Griffin’s publications.

Correspondence, minutes anad reports of the Federal-Provincial Study on Public Housing and Urban Renewal assembled by its Director, Professor James A. Murray. The Study was conducted for the Ontario Association of Housing Authorities through the School of Architecture. Includes also correspondence and programme for the 12th Annual Conference of the Association.

The Belousovich Collection of Samizdat and independent press is composed of various periodicals, manuscripts, and miscellaneous documents ranging from the 60s to the early 90 from the Soviet Union.
The series PERIODICALS forms the largest section of the collection. It includes publications dating predominately from the late 80s and early 90s. As the Soviet Union was undergoing strong political changes under Mikhail Gorbachev, many political organizations became more public with their activities and beliefs. This phenomenon was due to Glasnost, a policy introduced by Gorbachev that called for political openness of governing institutions, as well as, diminished censorship and greater freedom of speech. The majority of the periodicals in the collection date to this historical period and are of political nature. Many of the periodicals are the publications of various political parties and movements. The material is organized alphabetically by periodical title, and within each title by date.
In addition to periodicals, the Belousovitch collection also includes a large MANUSCRIPTS section. Many of the manuscripts date to the 70s and the 80s and are in Samizdat form. Among some of the most notable manuscripts in the collection is a 1700-page memoir by Maria Shapiro about her experiences in the Soviet gulag, and various works written by Dmitrii Dudko and Vladimir Albrekht. The material is arranged alphabetically by author.
The OTHER section consists of miscellaneous documents dating from the 60s to 80s. A notable number of original anguished appeals from the Soviet Union, written to U.S. officials, is one of the highlights. Another section of the collection that is worth special mention is the older Samizdat material. It contains various documents pertaining to Yurii Orlov’s Helsinki group, as well as, many other interesting documents. The material is ordered alphabetically according to broad subject categories, such as Court Cases, Human Rights, or Religion.

Fonds documents Allan Irving’s activities from 1976 to 1998 as a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work; as lecturer and/or professor at King’s College (University of Western Ontario), at the Faculty of Social Work (University of Toronto), at the Nipissing College (Laurentian University) and Wilfrid Laurier University. It also partially documents his other professional and scholarly activities, publications and writings, lectures and addresses from 1978 to 1999.

Personal records of Antonio Franceschetti, Professor Emeritus of Italian Studies at the University of Toronto, consisting of correspondence, certificates, administrative and teaching files, including files on graduate students, documentation of his work with organizations including the Associazione Internazionale per gli Studi di Lingua e Letteratura Italiana (AISLLI), the Canadian Federation of the Humanities, the Canadian Society for Italian Studies (CSIS), and the Dante Society of Toronto, grant applications, manuscripts of articles, books (including a volume on Petrarch that was never published), research notes, addresses, and posters.

Includes professional correspondence, lectures, manuscript of articles and addresses, research notes relating to her research on government immigration policy and practices. Also included are the records of the Advisory Board on Adjustments of Immigrants (1969-77) of which she was a member. Dr. Hawkins taught in the Political Science Department from 1966-1985 and served as an immigration consultant for several government bodies.

B2014-0014 has been described at the file leve, and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, membership lists, surveys and questionnaires, publications, reports, and other organizational records of the Library Association of the University of Toronto(LAUT). LAUT’s primary activities centred around topics such as employment and working conditions, salary matters, strikes, the status of women, the stack access debate, and the academic status of librarians as faculty members.

LAUT interacted with The University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the University of Toronto Staff Association (UTSA), the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), and the Canadian Association of College and University Librarians (CACUL) over the course of its activities.
