The fonds covers Dr. Borins’ research on film, history, biography, and other topics relating to business, information technology, automobile manufacturing, and financial trading. Types of documents include Dr. Borins’ notes and summaries, drafts of writings, articles, and course notes.
The aforementioned research resulted in the publication of Dr. Borin’s book titled Negotiating Business Narratives: Fables of the Information Technology, Automobile Manufacturing, and Financial Trading Industries published by Palgrave Pivot in 2018.

This collection is comprised of correspondence, documents, photographs and art works, and genealogical materials from England, India, the U.S.A, Cuba, the Philippines, and Canada, dating from 1838-1999, and related to Alfred Tripe (1818-1854), his sister Emily (Tripe) James (1817-1850), their first cousin Mary Broad (Tripe) De Rusett (1820-1898), and their relatives and descendants. Correspondence includes an extended series written 1866-1903 by William Francis James, highlighted by letters during his service with Roosevelt’s Rough Riders in Cuba in 1898. Nineteenth-century images include four art works, 100 cartes-de-visite and thirty-three cabinet or larger size family portraits. The genealogical material consists of a comprehensive Tripe pedigree compiled in the 1980s and 1990s, a James Family Tree c1880, and four related pedigrees. The collection also documents the development of a family fairy tale, composed in India in 1878, edited in England c1914, and fully illustrated in Canada in 1992.

Collection consists of 10 scrapbooks created by the Hart House String Quartet and their business manager, Milton Blackstone, which contain programs and newspaper clippings of reviews and press releases for their concerts. Two volumes (Volume 5, 1929-1931; and, Volume 7, 1932-1934) are missing from the collection. The collection also contains two scrapbooks for the Canadian Concert Association, during the time that Milton Blackstone was the director (1933-1935 and 1936).

Fonds consists of correspondence, subject files, course material, research records, and conference and publication files documenting the life and career of Prof. Roxana Ng, professor at OISE and community activist. Fonds also includes administrative material from OISE, in particular from AECP (Adult Education and Counselling Psychology) Department, the AECD (Adult Education and Community Development Program), CIARS (Centre for Integrative Anti-Racism Studies), and the CWSE (Centre for Women’s Studies in Education).

Nouwen, Henri J.M.
Collection consists of audiovisual materials featuring recordings of events given by and used by members of l'Arche International/Internationale. This material includes 1708 audio cassettes, 37 videocassettes, 8 film reels, and 78 audio reels. Much of the material features recordings created at L'Arche retreats internationally, such as the Covenant Retreat, Renewal Retreat, and Faith and Light Retreat. Prominent speakers include Jean Vanier, Henri Nouwen, Joe Egan, Robert Larouche and Sue Mosteller.
The majority of the audio files feature Jean Vanier, usually speaking at retreats. The film reels are recordings made and collected by L'Arche Daybreak, and feature a CBC film on Daybreak (from 1970), pilgramages and trips made by Faith and Light and Daybreak. There is also a film reel of Jean Vanier.

Collection also includes a binder which functioned as a catalogue for many of the cassettes that were housed at l'Arche Daybreak until 2004 and 2006. This binder is located in series 7.
L'Arche Daybreak (Association)
Collection consists of late-eighteenth, nineteenth, and early-twentieth century flutes, predominantly made by various builders and companies in London, England, as well as two from Paris, one from France, and one from Bayreuth, Germany. The collection covers the mechanization and modernization of the flute, including the addition of holes and keys, and the move from wood to metal for the body of the flute.

The Marjorie Lamb/ Alert Service fonds is primarily comprised of the research and publishing files of Marjorie Lamb in her capacity as a public speaker and the author of the Alert Service newsletter. The newsletter, which she published in the 1950s and 1960s sought to expose and counteract Communist activities in Canada. Her files extensively document the labour movement, Cold War political issues at the municipal, provincial and federal levels, and radical social movements in Toronto and across Canada. Implicit throughout the records are the issues of domestic espionage and propaganda.
Collection consists of monographs, articles, copies of articles, reviews and newspaper clippings written by and surrounding Marshall McLuhan. These records were collected and compiled by James Feeley in an effort to create a Marshall McLuhan bibliography; from 1962 until his death in 1993, Feeley worked on McLuhan's bibliography, with help from McLuhan's secretary Mrs. M. Stewart.

L'Arche Daybreak (Association)
Fonds consists of materials accumulated by Dr. Laurent and Mrs. Colette Potvin involving the Papal Commission on Population and Birth Control. The records cover the time period 1964 to 1966. The records consist of preliminary papers and drafts, research and reference material, studies and reports pertaining to the Commission that were sent to the Potvins, correspondence with Commission members and representatives of the Church, as well as reports presented by and to members during Commission sessions.
The fonds is composed of three series:
Fonds consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence with constituents, government officials, supporters, and other MPs; official documents; political pamphlets and booklets; election posters and flyers; newspaper clippings; personal records (notebook, speech notes); photographs; and personal memorabilia, including a leather pouch with relics of St. Anthony and St. Oliver Plunket. Fonds also includes a sous-fonds of O’Neill’s daughter, Teresa V. O’Neill. The Teresa V. O’Neill sous-fonds includes a draft of her doctoral thesis and correspondence related to her role of literary executrix of her father’s estate.

The postcards have been arranged chronologically. Undated cards have been placed at the end of the sections. The majority of the postcards are addressed to either 120 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto) or 96 MacPherson Avenue (Toronto), while the remaining 11 postcards are addressed to various hotels, inns, sanatoriums, and homes in Buffalo (NY), Rochester (NY), Long Beach (CA), San Francisco (CA), Petaluma (CA), and San Benito [?] (CA).
The collection includes greeting cards for birthdays, Easter, Christmas, New Years, Halloween, St. Patrick's day, the 4th of July, Valentine's day, Mother's day, and Thanksgiving. The collection also includes popular novelty cards such as photographic portrait postcards or postcards decorated with glitter. Numerous postcards depict buildings and streetscapes, the aftermath of the San Fransisco earthquake of 1906, and advertisements for barbershops, department stores, and hotels.
Fonds consists of journals, literary manuscripts, correspondence, teaching and student materials, reference materials, business and financial records; and personal photographs and objects of the author and professor of English, Sheila Watson. Also consists of collections of correspondence purchased and preserved by Watson for the purpose of her doctoral thesis and personal interest in the painter and author Wyndham Lewis.

Fonds consists of correspondence, manuscripts, sound recordings, drawings and diaries created and accumulated by the poet and playwright Wilfred Watson, husband to Sheila Watson. Material has been arranged to align with the Wilfred Watson fonds held by the University of Alberta Archives.

Fonds consists of documents relating to the Zola Research Program and the publication of the 10 volume "Émile Zola Correspondance" series, including project files, inventories, reference materials, photocopies of Émile Zola’s correspondence and other documents related to the project. The project files contained in this fonds document the development and activities of the Zola Research Program. Project files records include inventories of various letters, funding information, budgetary forms, donor agreements, publicity documents and summaries of the project written both by external entities (newspapers) and internal figures (members of the Program staff). Also included are supplementary documents that were collected to create a broader contextual framework. Each letter is be supported with annotations and background information on the correspondents, events or people discussed in the letters as well as the social and political state of France during the 19th century. While the collection of letters by Zola was the primary mandate of the project, along the way the Program collected a vast number of reference materials to broaden the perspective. This fonds contains the off-prints, various documents (both collected by Zola and collected by the Zola Research Program about various 19th century figures) and bibliographies. Books collected by the Program are now the basis of the Émile Zola Collection in the Rare Book Collection of Kelly Library.
The correspondence is composed mostly of photocopies of handwritten letters, post cards, cartes de visites, telegrams and typed transcriptions of letters. The correspondence is a mixture of professional and personal letters that discuss various matters from the publication of Zola’s main works to the birth of his children. It is clear from the various handwritings and documentation styles that multiple figures were involved in the processing of the letters. However, as a Research Associate and long-term member of the team, Dorothy Speirs was the primary figure creating, processing and cross-referencing the letters. This can be seen through the presence of her initials on most of the documents. Additionally, as Project Archivist Hélène Issayevitch organized the letters and maintained the record-keeping practices throughout. It is important to note that after the dissolution of the Zola Research Program in 1995, Speirs continued collecting reference materials and adding them to the collection. As a result, there are a number of documents contained within that extend outside the dates of the Program. The result of this continued research is an additional publication completed in 2008, in association with Owen Morgan.
This collection remains the largest repository of Émile Zola’s letters available in North America. In recent years, the descendants of Zola have divided the estate, including the letters, resulting in a dispersal of the documents. This collection represents the largest single collection of Zola’s letters that is accessible and open to the public. Additionally, this fonds contains a fountain of information on key figures in the Naturalist Movement of the 19th century, as well as other well-known artists, scholars, intellectuals and political and social figures, including J.K. Huysmans, Edmond de Goncourt, Gustave Flaubert, Édouard Manet, Alfred Bruneau, Paul Alexis, Henry Céard, Léon Hennique, and Guy de Maupassant - all of which can be found either through personal discussions in the letters or supplementary documentation. The hidden value in this fonds lies in the plethora of reference resources that are available. The fonds also houses a vast number of off-prints that explore various aspects of Zola’s life as well as the broader Naturalist community of the 19th century. Some other significant pieces include original 19th century illustrated theatrical pamphlets from the Théâtre Libre, various original newspaper clippings and original letters by Émile Zola, Alexandrine Zola, Paul Alexis and Jules Claretie.
Fonds is arranged into 6 series:
1) Project Files series: consists of a variety of records that document the development of the project over the years, including funding information, publicity and marketing documents, donor agreements, budgetary forms and some correspondence amongst various scholars.
2) Letters by Zola series: consists of photocopies of letters written by Zola between 1856 and 1902. This series also contains an original letter by Émile Zola, dated June 22, 1890 (File #107).
3) Letters to Zola series: contains photocopies of letters written to Zola between 1858 and 1902. This series also contains an original letter by Alexandrine Zola to Émile Zola, dated May 27, 1890 (File #248).
4) Letters by Contemporaries series: consists of photocopies of letters sent between Zola’s family and contemporaries. This series contains an original letter from Paul Alexis to Léon Hennique, dated September 19, 1887 (File #420).
5) Collected and Reference Material series: contains photocopies of documents about the project and the various correspondents in the fonds (documents written by or about Émile Zola, documents about his family and correspondents, off-prints of works written about Émile Zola and naturalism, project inventories of letters and bibliographies). Series contains a variety of original documents including newspapers and theatrical pamphlets.
6) Alphabetical Index Forms series: consists of biographical and contextual information on correspondents of Émile Zola, figures mentioned in the letters, or the main journals for which he wrote.
Zola Research Program
Collection consists of menus from various regions of Brazil. Restaurants are located in Sobra-Loja, Rio de Janeiro, Londrina, Sao Paulo, Leblon, Bahia, and Sao Lourenco. Bar fare, breakfast menus, steakhouse, hamburger house, and pan-American cuisine are just some types of dishes and restaurant represented.
A portion of the menus are from hotels. Menu types include trifold, booklet, seven-fold, placemat and bookmark style. Several menus are laminated or in vinyl enclosures. A portion of the menus have prices written in by hand in various colours of ink and are stained.

The Artifacts Collection consists of artifacts related to Victoria University and it's members. Categories of artifacts are: athletics, pins and medals, awards, jewelry, clothing, buildings, and miscellaneous items.

A1980-0021: Correspondence among Charles Kirk Clarke, William Belfry Hendry, James Alexander Roberts and others concerning the hospital unit, together with memoranda on the unit's history and personnel; war diary, in three volumes, recording daily activities of the hospital in Salonika; albums of photographs of the unit's activities in England, in Salonika, and en route to those places (1915-1918). This fonds also contains one photo print of the Hospital (1942).
A1988-0014: Panoramic view of the Canadian General Hospital No. 4 taken in England. (1 photoprint)
A2016-0043: This accession contains a selection of x-rays done on soldiers at the Canadian General Hospital No. 4 during, and shortly after the First World War. The x-rays are mounted in an album, which patient names and wound descriptions listed on the back of each image. The accession also contains 4 detailed autopsy record books. The autopsies appear to have been completed at Basingstoke, England, where Hospital No. 4 was relocated from its original station in Salonika, Poland. Neither the x-rays or the autopsy reports appear to be complete.

This fonds documents various facets of Prof. Armatage’s career as a filmmaker, senior programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival, and a professor of Cinema Studies and Women’s Studies at the University of Toronto. The academic activity files in Series 1 give an overview of the breadth of her interests, achievements and promotions. Lecture notes and other course materials in Series 2, along with comments on student works found in Series 3, document her teaching role. These will be especially useful to researchers interested in understanding the early beginnings of both women studies and cinema studies and how these developing academic disciplines were being taught to students. Prof. Armatage’s role as a programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival is documented in her extensive notes found in notebooks where she recorded critiques of films she was screening. These are found in Series 4. The extent of her filmmaking is documented in Series 7 and contains preserved original film elements to several of Prof. Armatage’s films, along with a limited amount of related documentation on the making of these films. Unfortunately, this fonds does not contain release prints for these titles.
This fonds has only a small amount of records relating to her published academic works as well as files relating to conferences she organized and associations in which she was active. These can be found in Series 5 and Series 6.

Fonds comprises handwritten and carbon copies of the manuscripts for two books: “A Study in the Idea of God” and “Civilization in the Making.” As well, there is a Sign-List for Pre-Hammurabi Contract Tablets. There are some 100 lantern slides that Mercer was famous for using in his lectures. Some of these slides by photographer A.J. Reading show titles for the images; however there is no listing of them.

The fonds consists of records kept by Stephen Reynolds during the course of his adult life. These include correspondence with family, friends, and colleagues that illuminate his personal life, his Christian faith, and his various pastoral and intellectual pursuits. Carbon copies of many outgoing letters were created and kept. Reynolds kept an intermittent diary through the time period represented here. These were sometimes typed, and often handwritten in small notebooks. He apparently removed pages from these notebooks and inserted them in files with correspondence and other material from the same time period.
Other records include academic papers, research material, sermons, prayers, drafts of manuscripts, course materials, and some official documents such as academic transcripts.

Fonds contains autograph poems by both Lampman and Scott, a bound volume with two Lampman poems presented to the College by Scott, various poems by Lampman and Scott printed on cards or in booklets and sent as Christmas cards along with Christmas greetings to "Shortt” [the Reverend Charles Harper Shortt who was a fellow student of Lampman’s at Trinity].
