Records of the Women’s Student Union Advisory Committee / Wymilwood Committee

Series consists of the minutes of the Women's Student Union Advisory Committee and minutes of the Wymilwood Committee. Also includes reports of the Head of the Union, the Union's financial records, lists of members, and ephemera from the opening of Wymilwood.

General/Correspondence files

Series consists of general files containing incoming and outgoing correspondence (including correspondence with Victoria University Officers), reports and other records concerning a wide range of activities, including matters involving individual students, 1948-1990.

Subject files

Series consists of files re policies, surveys, topics, activities and events; and Victoria University groups with which the Dean of Men was involved, including groups to study student alcohol use.

Series is arranged alphabetically and includes files related to a variety of topics including church history, speaking engagements, installations, lectures and conferences attended, budgets, policies, and general administration.

Records related to lectures, conferences and events

Series consists of records related to the planning, organization and hosting of lectures, conferences and events held at Emmanuel College. Records include correspondence, reports, copies of lectures and marketing material such a posters, fliers, etc. Also includes speeches given by the Principal at speaking engagements.

Correspondence of the Principal

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence arranged alphabetically, 1946–1954, and chronologically, 1962–1990. Correspondence, 1946–1983, is general/miscellaneous and includes material pertaining to students, faculty, staff, as well as to programs, policies, activities and events; correspondence, 1984–1990, is classified as concerning students, 1985–1990, to/from faculty, 1984–1988, and general/miscellaneous, 1984–1990. Later correspondence was arranged by recipient/subject -2008.

Records related to the Association of Theological Schools

Series is arranged alphabetically, and consists of correspondence, reports, minutes, statistics and other records re committees, conferences, surveys, self-studies, and workshops of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada, and its preceding body, the Association of American Theological Schools, 1938–2001.

Records related to faculty and teaching staff

Series consists of files relating to human resources. Includes records of individual faculty/teaching staff and Appointment/Search Committees for teaching positions. Record types include CVs, correspondence re promotions and appointments, letters of recommendation, search committee minutes, and staff interviews. Faculty files contain CVs and often course outlines, correspondence, writing and articles, memorials, resolutions, obituaries and photographs, published articles, lecture papers and course evaluations. Also includes files related to visiting fellows and lecturers.

Records related to committees and task forces

Series consists of records related to the Principal's participation and response to Committees and Task Forces established for a variety of purposes including property, long-range and strategic planning, library expansion, student services and worship life. Records are from internal Emmanuel College committees as well as those established by Victoria University Senate and Board of Regents.

Records related to inter-institutional agreements and cooperation.

Consists of records relating to the establishment and management of partnerships, inter-institutional collaborations and cooperative activities as well as institutional agreements. Records relate to the United Church of Canada, Deans' and Principal's of UCC schools, the United Church Training School and Church Conferences (including records for candidacy of graduates), the Toronto School of Theology, the University of Toronto, Knox College, Trinity College, as well as other national and local ecumenical organizations

Files on Victoria College Council and its committees

Series consists of general correspondence relating to Council business, 1970-1980, 1986-1990, and governing by-laws, 1977-1990; minutes, reports and correspondence of the Academic Advisory Committee, 1972-1988, and various other Council committees, 1963-1990. While most of these records pertain to internal College matters, many also document the evolving relationship with the University of Toronto.

Files on University of Toronto bodies

Series consists of files relating to the Principal's participation in University of Toronto bodies, 1970-1991, including: University Wide Committee on Governance, 1970-1971; New Programme Review Committee, 1972-1973; Inter-College Council (Committee), 1970-1973; Collegiate Board, 1974-1979; and, the Principal, Deans and Directors group, 1972-1977.

Records relating to faculty and other academic staff

Series consists of seven sub-series. The first three sub-series contain records of teaching staff, organized under three different filing methods: by general category (1944-1969), by name of individual staff member (1971-1987), and by department (1971-1986). Series four and five contain files on teaching assistants (1977-1982) and Fellows of Victoria College (1976-1986) respectively. The sixth series contains three files relating to staff promotions (1972-1979) and salary equalization (1974) and the seventh files relating to academic appointments and faculty, 1976-1992.

Canadian Society for Renaissance Studies

Series consists of records of the Seiziémistes Canadiens meetings ; the CSRS Annual General Meetings and executive meetings including minutes and agendas ; the Canadian Federation for the Humanities records ; CSRS newsletters and bulletins ; financial records ; records from the annual conference ; membership records ; correspondence ; directories ; records of the Secretary-Treasurer and the President, as well as other Renaissance associations' records.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence of the Librarian relating to loans (including those to clergy), acquisitions, ordering publications, exhibitions, archives, staff, CRRS, security, funding, outreach, Physical Plant, and other subjects.

Series consists of subject/correspondence files of the Librarian on subjects such as exhibitions, publishing and publications, building renovations, bequests, outreach, collections, archives, acquisitions, automation, professional associations, the Toronto School of Theology and Funds, 1877-2008. Also contains material relating to the coat of arms of Victoria University, 1922-1968.

Acquisition records

Series consists of acquisition records, a list of theological books donated, loans record, acknowledgment letters to donors and other records related to gifts and donations to the library.

Annual reports and other records

Series consists of annual reports (incomplete), 1898-2003; reports (including those to Victoria University bodies), questionnaires, evaluations, manuals, newsletters, statistics, occasional papers, policies and statements on acquisitions, public service, facilities and other areas of activity, 1878-2006.
