Fonds consists of correspondence from Ross Parmenter and two article reviews discussing two of Mr. Parmenter’s publications.

Collection of newspaper clippings and other printed matter pertaining to political events of 1969-1979, from the Toronto Star, The Globe & Mail and other publications. Materials relate mainly to the Canadian response to President Nixon; Toronto city municipal elections; Toronto city planning, and the Spadina Expressway proposal. Also includes typescript meeting minutes for the Association of Women Electors and the Bloor-Bathurst Community Group.

Files were created by the CEA secretary-treasurers, four of whom are represented in the fonds. The records focus on administration and finances, primarily the organization of annual and executive meetings, financial reports, day-to-day accounts, bank and investment statements, and grant applications to government funding agencies. Also included are items relating to the CEA's membership in organizations such as the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the International Economics Association, and the International Economic History Association.

Files relating to annual meetings and the twice-yearly meetings of the executive council are extensive and include agendas and other meeting documents, local arrangements, travel grant applications and expense claims, minutes, and follow-up reports. Files from various committees of the association are also present. The administrative files also include general correspondence, membership information, and directories.

Financial documents included in the Secretary-Treasurers’ Series include financial statements, bank statements, cancelled cheques, cheque books and stubs, receipts, bank books, receipt books and copies of taxation forms such as T5s. The CEA publishes the Canadian Journal of Economics and is a sponsor of the Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques. Files for the two journals deal primarily with administration and finances, for instance, the appointment of editors, monthly expense reports, grant applications, revenue statements, correspondence with publishers (particularly concerning costs of publication and distribution), etc. There are very few purely editorial files (that is, submissions to the journals, readers’ reports, manuscripts, proofs, etc.).

The collection is comprised of minutes of the committee's executive and annual meetings, financial statements, statistics, correspondence, church listings, membership lists, mailing lists, directories, newsletters, publicity, pamphlets and proofs. These papers are mostly concerned with the affairs of the National and Regional Committees, however the last five boxes contain the papers of the Metropolitan Toronto Inter-Faith Immigration Committee.

The collection consists of manuscripts for the book John Galt's Poems, edited by Needler, and notes regarding Galt. It also contains notes on and correspondence concerning Anna Jameson and letters between David Macbeth Moir and Alexander Balfour (1821-1829).

Consists of files containing correspondence, reports, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, newsletters and periodicals, dealing with university discipline, the library crisis, Berkeley student protests, the 1971 University of Toronto Act, women's liberation, daycare, SAC, Glendon Forum, unemployment, student aid, Canadian Union of Students, drugs, and other student and education-related topics.

Correspondence, notes, memoranda, ballots and score sheets, flyers, brochures, posters, booklets, and related material documenting Geoffrey Buerger’s activities with the University of Toronto Debating Union and tournaments in Hart House at the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario, Dalhousie University, McGill University, Brown University, and the University of London.

Records in this fonds consist mainly of film and video documenting many of the projects developed within the DPG by Prof. Ron Baecker as well as with colleagues and graduate students. Included are film reels collected and exhibited for the 20th anniversary and incorporated into the video Dynamic Image. These document very early projects such as Baecker’s Genesys: Computer Animation System (MIT, 1969), Leslie Mezei’s Art of Computers (1971), George Olshevski‘s Regular 4D Polytopes (ca. 1971). A poster from this event is also included. Videos demonstrate many of the technologically advance graphic works done by the DPG lab under Baecker’s directorship including, to list a few, CaveCat, Telepresence Ontario, MAD (Movie Authoring Design) and Apple Design Competition 1993 (Globall).

There is also one box of textual records documenting to limited degree other areas of Baecker’s career including TAGlab, Knowledge Media Design Institute and NECTAR – network for Effective Collaboration Technologies through Advanced Research. There is also a series of portraits done of Baecker in 1987 as well as an album documenting the work of the Telepresence Ontario Project.

The fonds consists of administrative, organizational, summary and financial records relating to the Faith and Sharing Federation. The records range in date from 1968 to 2012. The fonds is composed of eight series:

The majority of the records are textual however, as indicated, the fonds includes almost 200 recordings of retreats, including many talks by founder Jean Vanier.

"Early graduates and academic women at the University of Toronto", a paper by Jill McBryde submitted to History 359, 'The history of women in Canada'. 36p. Appendices 1-9, A-E and "Statistical Data on Women enrolled in the School of Graduate Studies..."

Collection consists of audiovisual materials featuring recordings of events given by and used by members of l'Arche International/Internationale. This material includes 1708 audio cassettes, 37 videocassettes, 8 film reels, and 78 audio reels. Much of the material features recordings created at L'Arche retreats internationally, such as the Covenant Retreat, Renewal Retreat, and Faith and Light Retreat. Prominent speakers include Jean Vanier, Henri Nouwen, Joe Egan, Robert Larouche and Sue Mosteller.

The majority of the audio files feature Jean Vanier, usually speaking at retreats. The film reels are recordings made and collected by L'Arche Daybreak, and feature a CBC film on Daybreak (from 1970), pilgramages and trips made by Faith and Light and Daybreak. There is also a film reel of Jean Vanier.

Collection also includes a binder which functioned as a catalogue for many of the cassettes that were housed at l'Arche Daybreak until 2004 and 2006. This binder is located in series 7.

Fonds consists of records documenting the Arts and Science Students’ Union and its constituent course unions. Material reflects ASSU’s sometimes collaborative, sometimes adversarial relationships with course unions, other student societies like SAC and the Association of Part-Time Undergraduate Students (APUS), as well as with university and faculty administration. Included are records documenting ASSU’s efforts to increase student representation on administrative bodies, and their efforts to improve programs and policies pertaining to undergraduate education. Material also reflects course unions’ role in providing an avenue for students’ voices to be heard through the course evaluations. Records include executive and council meeting minutes, newsletters and event posters, course evaluations, reports and position statements, and correspondence.

The collection consists of materials relating to the anti-Vietnam War activities of Ann Buttrick. Topics include civil liberties, Canadian policy vis-a-vis the United States, and the Annie Mae Aquash case. Papers were created in connection with The International Committee to Free South Vietnamese Political Prisoners from Detention, Torture and Death, which was a committee of the Canadian Council of Churches, and Voice of Women, a non-governmental organization, and the Canadian Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). They include correspondence, Vietnamese government publications, audio recordings of Toronto events, newspaper clippings, and printed matter.

Personal records of Helen J. Breslauer, consisting primarily of a study of which she was a principal investigator along with Professor Howard Andrews, “Co-operative housing: a case study of decision-making in design and user satisfaction” (1968-1975). This fonds also includes files relating broadly to the development of an urban studies programme at Erindale College, with particular emphasis on course CGR/SOC 340E: “Concepts, methods, and values in urban studies” (1972-1976).

Seven of the eight series in this fonds deal with the Co-operative housing case study and are arranged according to the areas of research mapped out in the interim reports [see Series 7]. In addition there is an administrative series and a reports series which provide an overview of the research methodology, findings and administration of the research project.

The collection consists of draft manuscripts of Payerle's various works, including The Afterpeople (1970), Wolfbane Fane (1977), Two from Babylon (1990) and The Weather and That (1993). It also includes drafts of his unpublished poems and prose, papers documenting his involvement with The Writers' Union of Canada, and correspondence from other writers in the Union and those whose work he edited.

This fonds contains records related to the professional activities of Professor David Wolfe, including his early academic career, his time as Executive Coordinator for Economic and Labour Policy in the Government of Ontario, and his academic publications and activities in the following years.

This collection is a complete archive of the graphic design work of Rick Simon, dating from 1968 to 2007, including an example of each finished piece as well as preliminary designs and proofs for some items. The collection comprises all of the work Rick Simon has done independently, and for which he has been responsible for the entire job. Graphic design work done for Coach House, in collaboration with others, has not been included here. For information on the contents please consult the attached finding aid.

Records relating to the founding and early operation of the Association of Part-Time Students, created and collected by its founding president Joyce Denyer. Includes briefs, reports, correspondence, memos, minutes, surveys and essays. Also documented, is Denyer's advisory role to the Ontario government on matters concerning part-time students especially regarding issues of student financial support. There are also some records relating to the Department of University Extension.

Fonds contains files created by Carolyn Purden to support her writing about the ordination of women as priests within the Anglican Community worldwide. Documents include her correspondence, notes, interview transcripts, and draft articles. Also included are publications, press releases and reports from the Anglican and Episcopal Churches, and clippings from newspapers and magazines.

Materials include administrative and financial documents for Rochdale College’s Governing Council and Education Council, correspondence; notices posted at Rochdale, newspaper clippings, writings about Rochdale, Rochdale publications, and audio recordings about Rochdale and other topics. Please note: The Rochdale Collection was originally catalogued at the Fisher Library as T-10 00013 “[Collection of miscellaneous material issued by and about Rochdale].” The original contents note for T-10 00013 are provided at the end of this document. Fonds consists of correspondence, subject files, articles, teaching files, research notes and other records documenting the professional life and work of Prof. Richard Simeon. This includes records relating to Prof. Simeon’s PhD thesis and early career, teaching, departmental and curriculum planning at Queen’s University and the University of Toronto, peer reviews, conference attendance, articles and books, and evaluations of student performance.

The fonds also includes significant coverage of Prof. Simeon’s research projects and advisory work, including work for the Forum of Federations, as the research coordinator for the Macdonald Report on Canada’s future, as adviser to Ontario Premiers, and as participant in the Renewal of Canada conferences. Research files cover issues of ethnicity and democratic governance, Canada-U.S. relations, and bilingualism in voluntary associations. Records also document Prof. Simeon’s work relating to constitutional development in post-apartheid South Africa.

Fonds also contains a significant number of electronic files, some transferred directly from Prof. Simeon’s computer, and some on disks. These files relate the range of activities documented throughout the paper records. Files from his computer have been organized into the same 9 series as the paper files. Disks have been kept in their own series (Series 10).

Personal records of George Zarb, Professor Emeritus of and former head of Prosthodontics in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, who introduced dental implantology to North America and who is recognized internationally for his contributions to his field. The records include personal and professional correspondence; files on many of the numerous honours bestowed on him; administrative files; teaching files, course material and lecture notes with accompanying slides, along with slide presentations from student projects and theses; files of correspondence and related material pertaining to professional activities, including selected conferences and editorial work; and drafts of chapters of books, articles, and addresses, with accompanying photographs and slides, and some born-digital material.

Fonds consists of papers of Dr. Alan T. Davies primarily concerning Jewish-Christian issues, racism and anti semitism. The records consist of correspondence (various), correspondence re Jewish-Christian issues, letters to the editor, published articles, book reviews, addresses/lectures, sermons, announcements of addresses/lectures, reviews of books authored by Dr. Davies and related correspondence. Also includes a copy of his curriculum vitae.

Collection contains nineteen Cree language instruction manuals written and independently published by Anne Anderson, which includes books designed for children at the elementary level as well as books written for older students and adults. The collection contains a small amount of archival material including two letters from Anne Anderson to James Fidelholtz, where she discusses her reasoning for choosing to teach Cree, “I being of Indian and white blood is doing this type of work as it concern the many different tribes. Only now after years of being looked down upon, we are looked upon as truly human beings.” As well as her qualifications in teaching, “If you are not Cree and if you do not speak the language, all the degrees in the world will not help. You need to have lived the life of an Indian and be fluent in the language and traditions to hold a degree in teaching this language.”
Also included in the collection are a collaborative book in Cree instruction produced by the Department of Education in Alberta in 1969, as well as four books written by Indigenous students attending Federal residential and day schools (Kingfisher Lake Indian Day School, Fort George Residential School, and Deer Lake Indian Day School), which were printed by the Department of Indian Affairs and the Education Division of Indian Affairs Branch of Indian Affairs and Northern Development.

Constitution, correspondence, minutes, memoranda and reports documenting the activities of the Music Graduate Students' Association.

Consists of transcripts and tapes of interviews with individuals working at the University of Toronto Press. The interviews were arranged by Prof. Victor Hoar of the University of Western Ontario, who had a grant to carry out an "oral history" project concerning academic publishing in Canada. Dr. Hoar later changed his surname to Howard. The tapes and transcripts were transferred to the Archives in 1979, with the intention of adding them to the Archives' own oral history collection.

Box 1 contains transcripts of interviews with Harold Bohne, Miss Cragg (now Mrs. D. Sutherland), ___ Fanning, Allan Fleming, J.G. Garden, Roy Gurney, and Eleanor Harmon.

Box 2 contains transcripts of interviews with D. Hayne, Marshall Jeanneret, Hillary Marshall, Ian Montagnes, and B. Plewman.

There are also audiotapes of the recordings for Cragg, Fleming, Garden, Garvey, Hayne, Jeanneret, Montagnes, and Plowman. There is also an audiotape of an interview with Francess Halpenny, for which there is no transcript.

The fonds consists of records kept by Stephen Reynolds during the course of his adult life. These include correspondence with family, friends, and colleagues that illuminate his personal life, his Christian faith, and his various pastoral and intellectual pursuits. Carbon copies of many outgoing letters were created and kept. Reynolds kept an intermittent diary through the time period represented here. These were sometimes typed, and often handwritten in small notebooks. He apparently removed pages from these notebooks and inserted them in files with correspondence and other material from the same time period.

Other records include academic papers, research material, sermons, prayers, drafts of manuscripts, course materials, and some official documents such as academic transcripts.

Fonds consists of material documenting the career of Prof. Guido Pugliese as Associate Professor in the Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), and to a limited extent, his involvement in the local Italian Canadian community.
