Other than the first series, which covers Ran Ide's family and early years, the majority of the records focus on the professional aspects of his life. The final series consists of a finding aid compiled by the donor, John Ide, Ran Ide's son and contains anecdotes and detailed explanations of all of the records at the item level. There is also a series of writings from Ran Ide's Before and After: Recollections which he wrote for his family in 1996 and several writings of memories written by John Ide.

Canadian Economics Association Papers
Files were created by the CEA secretary-treasurers, four of whom are represented in the fonds. The records focus on administration and finances, primarily the organization of annual and executive meetings, financial reports, day-to-day accounts, bank and investment statements, and grant applications to government funding agencies. Also included are items relating to the CEA's membership in organizations such as the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences, the International Economics Association, and the International Economic History Association.
Files relating to annual meetings and the twice-yearly meetings of the executive council are extensive and include agendas and other meeting documents, local arrangements, travel grant applications and expense claims, minutes, and follow-up reports. Files from various committees of the association are also present. The administrative files also include general correspondence, membership information, and directories.
Financial documents included in the Secretary-Treasurers’ Series include financial statements, bank statements, cancelled cheques, cheque books and stubs, receipts, bank books, receipt books and copies of taxation forms such as T5s. The CEA publishes the Canadian Journal of Economics and is a sponsor of the Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques. Files for the two journals deal primarily with administration and finances, for instance, the appointment of editors, monthly expense reports, grant applications, revenue statements, correspondence with publishers (particularly concerning costs of publication and distribution), etc. There are very few purely editorial files (that is, submissions to the journals, readers’ reports, manuscripts, proofs, etc.).
Canadian Economics Association
Collection consists of forms relating to the civil and military governments of Upper and Lower Canada. Most are printed and completed in manuscript, some in manuscript only. Many forms document the salaries and pensions paid by the Province of Quebec (later Lower Canada). Two (1815 and 1817) are for Upper Canada. These are filed as "disbursements"; military payments as "warrants"; others include: receipts, powers of attorney, military "ordinaries" and "extraordinaries", etc
There are a variety of signatures on each document, including those of the governor, secretary, recipient or attorney for the recipient, etc. Only a few were definitely printed in Canada: byT.Cary and Co and by J. Neilson in Quebec. There is no imprint on most of them-they could have been printed in Canada.
This collection of photographs and photographs of drawings of sixty-two Canadian authors was probably made about 1921. Some of the authors included are obscure, others are well-known such as Charles G.D. Roberts.

Topics include civil liberties, Canadian policy vis-a-vis the United States, and the Annie Mae Aquash case. Papers were created in connection with The International Committee to Free South Vietnamese Political Prisoners from Detention, Torture and Death, which was a committee of the Canadian Council of Churches, and Voice of Women, a non-governmental organization, and the Canadian Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). They include correspondence, Vietnamese government publications, audio recordings of Toronto events, newspaper clippings, and printed matter.

It includes a variety of family letters as well as letters from Sir Sandford Fleming, Sir Oliver Mowat and Sir John Schultz. Noteworthy items include early correspondence (1841-1848) relating to St. Andrew's Church in Ottawa; Andrew Drummond's reminiscenes describing his experience as an accountant and cashier in the Bank of Montreal during the 1837 Rebellion, the Fenian Raids and during later disturbances; correspondence and scrapbooks on the attempt to promote the Hudson's Bay Railway; and papers relating to George Drummond's invention of a new typewriter.
