Most of the files deal with issues surrounding the French Department, undergraduate and graduate French courses, including records on course outlines, examinations, and bibliographies (17 boxes, 1938-1985).

B1993-0014: Correspondence, minutes, announcements, invitations, memoranda and reports assembled by Professor Hayne while carrying out administrative and teaching duties at University College and the Department of French, University of Toronto (1 box, 1985-1992)

B2009-0013: This accession consists of correspondence and subject files on individuals who were colleagues of Prof. Hayne during his 40 years in the Department of French at the University of Toronto. It complements other accessions within this fonds (see list below) since many of the letters relate to the discipline of French language and literature in particular and University College and the University of Toronto in general. Correspondents include, among others, F.A.C. Jeanneret, his former teacher as an undergraduate and other colleagues at University College in the Department of French such as, Paul Perron (Chair, Department of French), C.D. Includes: letterbooks; correspondence; diaries; notebooks relating to trips to Georgian and Hudson Bays; records regarding bridge construction, as well as photographs; addresses; certificates; lecture notes; research notes; reports; prize books; biographical articles, tributes, and genealogical records.

Also includes an annotated map of the route taken by John Galbraith from Rupert's House to Lake Mistassini, July - August, 1881; and ca. 250 glass plate negatives and lantern slides depicting the investigation headed by Galbraith into the 1907 Quebec Bridge disaster.

Henry John Cody records document his activities with external organizations including his role on the Royal on University Finances. Also includes sermons, clippings, photographs, pamphlets, programmes, diplomas, certificates for honors, etc. Other records document Barbara Blackstock Cody and her activities mainly relating to architectural conservancy and the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship (1977). Photographs document Henry John Cody's activities at the University of Toronto and other organizations.

Personal records of George Zarb, Professor Emeritus of and former head of Prosthodontics in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Toronto, who introduced dental implantology to North America and who is recognized internationally for his contributions to his field. The records include personal and professional correspondence; files on many of the numerous honours bestowed on him; administrative files; teaching files, course material and lecture notes with accompanying slides, along with slide presentations from student projects and theses; files of correspondence and related material pertaining to professional activities, including selected conferences and editorial work; and drafts of chapters of books, articles, and addresses, with accompanying photographs and slides, and some born-digital material.

Includes minutes of meetings, correspondence, memoranda, notes, financial records, programs, publicity and press coverage, audiotapes of pre-Teach-in lectures (1967), speeches, a colour film of Secretary General U Thant's address to the Third International Teach-in (1967), photographs and publications.

Records documenting the activites of Milton Brown as professor in the Department of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine and head (1956-1967) of the Department of Public Health. There are extensive files on administrative matters and courses; on courses given at the Canadian Civil Defence College; on research relating to tuberculosis, other communicable diseases, and the development of vaccines; and on committees, especially those that Brown chaired, such as the Panel on Infection and Immunity of the Defence Research Board and the Committee on Accident Prevention of the Canadian Public Health Association. Some of Dr. Brown's files incorporate material produced by Donald Fraser, and there are also some of the latter's files.

Included is correspondence, memoranda and notes, financial records, grant applications, lecture notes, minutes, reports, addresses, manuscripts, publications and photoprints.

This accession contains mainly correspondence, photographs, memorabilia and diplomas from all three members of the family. Of particular note are the diaries of Sir J.C. McLennan for the last two years of his life as well as well as geological field notebooks and expense books.

Fonds consists of material documenting the professional and personal life of Prof. Tuppil Venkatacharya. Records cover his collection and research of Sanskrit literature through correspondence, typescripts, annotated texts, translations and transliterations, and recordings of some of his academic presentations. Also included in the material is documentation of the community Sanskrit classes taught by the scholar (Series 10) as well as his and his wife’s, Vijaya Venkatacharya’s, involvement in Toronto’s South Asian community. Fonds consists of material documenting the careers of both Prof. Frederick Winter and Joan Winter, particularly related to their archaeological research. Material in the fonds represents both of their individual work and education, as well as research conducted and presentations given together. The records of Prof. Frederick Winter’s cover his publishing activity, research across Europe, particularly within Greece, teaching, and some aspects of his doctoral work.

Joan Winter’s records make up a larger portion of the fonds’ material with considerable documentation of her undergraduate education at the University of Alberta as well as her time at the University of Toronto. Records also include Joan Winter’s teaching material as well as the tutorials she led for some of Prof. Winter’s courses.

The Winters’ joint research is documented through travel diaries, articles, research, and presentation notes. Some of the presentations are accompanied by photographs and the fonds includes additional graphic material related to their research.

Correspondence, minutes, memoranda, briefs, reports, notes, manuscripts of addresses and publications, interviews, lecture notes, course outlines, photographs, posters, sound tapes and administrative records documenting the activities of Keith McLeod as a professor in the Faculty of Education, University of Toronto, with particular emphasis on multicultural and intercultural education, the teaching of English as a second language, multiculturalism, aging and health care. Included in the administrative records are files on the merger of the Faculty of Education with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Related to these files are course outlines and lecture notes for courses given at the University of Toronto, University of Manitoba, and Université de Montréal. There are also files on the journal, Multiculturalism; on organizations such as the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers, Canadian Council for Multicultural and Intercultural Education, Canadian History of Education Association, Canadian Council of Multicultural Health, Multicultural Health Coalition, the Ontario Multicultural Organization; and on problems relating to the teaching of the French language in Saskatchewan.

Records documenting Dr. Sisam's career as a forester from his time as a student at the University of Toronto through to his time as Dean of the Faculty of Forestry. Included are memos, correspondence, reports relating to the Faculty of Forestry; records documenting his membership on the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Lands and Forests; early correspondence with the Ontario Paper Company; numerous governmental reports and academic papers on the Canadian forest industry and forestry education in Canada; draft chapters of what appears to be a history of the University of Toronto Faculty of Forestry; records relating to his involvement in various associations such as the Canadian Institute of Forestry and the Ontario Professional Foresters.

Photographs include 2 photoprints of the Ontario Forestry Association, Annual Meeting and Dinner, 1958 and 1970.

• B1987-0049: Correspondence, articles, maps, and plates relating to his position as Director of Alumni Affairs and of the U of T Athletic Association. [2 boxes, 1930-1948]

Personal records of Professor Stephen Clarkson, documenting his career as a political scientist, writer, teacher, and his early political career in municipal politics and with the Liberal Party of Canada and Ontario. Records in this fonds document the entirety of Clarkson's life and career. Records include biographical information (CV's, activity reports, honours), personal and professional correspondence, and files related to his early education and the writing of his Ph.D. thesis.

Series 3 to 13 consist of records documenting Clarkson's several books and his extensive research and writings over the course of his career. Joint projects and research with Christina McCall including original records by her can be found in some these series as well, specifically the research and writing of Trudeau and Our Times (Series 2) and research on Canadian Federal politics (Series 13).

Series 14 to 18, document Clarkson's teaching activities and his career within the University of Toronto's Department of Political Science.

Series 19 to 22 document his political roles within the Liberal party, his run for Toronto Mayor in 1969 and as well as his social activism.

This fonds also includes Liberal Party of Canada policy documents (1966-1976) belonging to Allen Linden that were given to Clarkson either because he took over as chair of the policy committee or collected as a primary resource for his research on the Liberal Party.

Accession B2019-0003 was an accrual acquired from his spouse Nora Clarkson following his death, and consists of files from his home office and laptop computer.

Accession B2023-0008 (1 box, 1975-2000) is an accrual of further personal records consisting of his journal and notes about his marriage to Christina McCall.

This fonds contains comprehensive documentation on all aspects of Richard Lee’s work as a well-known anthropologist. Correspondence, found within Series 1 but also throughout the fonds, is multifaceted and includes both incoming and outgoing letters with colleagues, students, university administrators and publishers. His teaching lectures and numerous papers, talks and drafts of publications represent a full body of work that synthesis his research from his early work with the the Ju/'hoansi-!Kung San of Botswana and Namibia to his evolving interest in indigenous human rights and the impact of Aids/HIV in southern Africa. This fonds is rich in original research including original collated data, field notebooks, grants requests and general notes. Much of this is supplemented with photographs and sound recordings related to his research and publications. Finally, files relating to professional meetings and groups document the overall field of anthropology, Lee’s role within it and the changing nature of the discipline and the role of anthropologists in society.

Personal records of Allan Griffin, Professor Emeritus of Physics at the University of Toronto. Includes notes and drafts for research and articles, correspondence with students and colleagues, notebooks from Griffin’s own education, teaching resources such as lecture notes, drafts and transparencies for addresses, and a large number of reprints of Professor Griffin’s publications.

Collection includes seventeen oral history interviews focused on illuminating the impact of student action and initiatives across UofT’s three campuses. Themes within the interviews cover a broad range of topics including community building and mentorship, institutional response, and the deep personal and educational value drawn from commitments to systemic change.

Accessions include the personal records of Larry Wayne Richards, architect and educator, documenting his personal life with his partner, Frederic Urban, their education and Richards’ professional life, especially his teaching and administrative work at the Nova Scotia Technical College and as Dean of Architecture at the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto. Also documented is his involvement in multiple design projects, both as a working architect and as an advisor. Included is his work as a member of the Physical Planning and Design Committee at the University of Toronto (especially for Graduate House), the restoration of 230 College Street, his extended collaboration with Kin Yeung (Blanc de Chine, WORKshop), and his participation in municipal architectural and design projects. There are extensive files on his work for the Canadian Centre for Architecture, including the Venice Biennales of 1991 and 1996 and as an advisor to the Royal Ontario Museum’s ‘Renaissance ROM’ project (architect, Daniel Libeskind). There are also files of correspondence and related material on many architects, in particular, Frank Gehry.

B1991-0022: Laboratory notes, with exercises, for second year undergraduate course in physics (electricity), taken by Robert W. McCauley, a second year student in Biology 1947.

B2013-0020: 1910-1918: Documents, photographs and artifacts document three generations of the Peterkin - Williamson family. Most of the items relate to Marie Peterkin (B.A. 1919) including a photo album with family photos, photos of fellow students, house parties in Bala and the Toronto Island, convocation,, fellow female workers on break at the munitions factory during World War I. There are also a few items for Ruby Peterkin, aunt to Marie Peterkin, who served in Salinika as nurse in the No. 4 Canadian General Hospital. There are a few photos including two from Salonika as well as an engraved letter opener from her time overseas. Marie Peterkin married John Williamson (B.A. 1910) and their daughter is the donor of this accession Mary Williamson (B.A. 1955). This accession includes the graduating portrait for each as well as two UT letters earned by Mary.

B2014-0013: Photo album originally belonged to John D. Williamson (B.A. 1910) and documents various members and activities of the Williamson family members. Photos show campus views of grounds and students ca. 1906 – 1917 as well as a trip to western Canada 1912, and to Temagami 1916 and 1917. There are also two portraits of J.Peter Williamson, son of John D. Williamson.

B2017-0015: Includes 60th Anniversary Distinguished Graduate Award medal, won by Mary Williamson, alumnus of the Faculty of Library and Information Science. Includes accompanying photograph and letter. One photograph of Marie Peterkin (Williamson) taken ca. 1950 with former U.C. classamate Vida Peene (U.C. 1919). Finally there are a series of photographer proof portraits of J.Peter Williamson in military uniform, 1951.

B2019-0026: Consists of Two binders of collected documents on Marie Peterkin (B.A. 1919) and John Williamson (B.A. 1910) including memoriabilia, legal documents, photographs, diaires, correspondence and some family histories. This accession also has a photo album documenting the couple's trips to Bermuda and Florida in the 1950s and 1960s. There are two oversized certificates for John Williamson.
