Joe Rosenblatt Papers

This collection consists of manuscript drafts and other material related to various writing projects by poet and visual artist Joe Rosenblatt, including Parrot Fever (published by Exile Editions, 2002) as well as two as-yet unpublished works: Dog Poems, a collaboration with Vancouver-based poet Catherine Owen and photographer Karen Moe, and Hogg Variations / The Lunatic Muse, a collaboration with Barry Callaghan. The collection also contains a large volume of correspondence, primarily e-mail.

Eric Ormsby Papers

Includes correspondence, drafts of essays, articles, lectures, curriculum units for Ismaili Institute course, translations and other material related to the life and work of poet, librarian and scholar Eric Ormsby. Ormsby won the prestigious World Book Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran, 2014, for his translation of Between Reason and Revelation: twin wisdoms reconciled: an annotated English translation of Nasir-I Khusraw’s Kitab-I Jami’ al-hikmatayn. Also includes early drawings, 1950s, a book proposal for a children’s book on pets, illustrated by his brother, Allan, as well as other early material. Notebooks contain ideas and early drafts of poems and short pieces, as well as more contemporary colour sketches.

Correspondence

Series consists of various correspondences received by Father Donovan between 1990 and 2020, largely pertaining to the Donovan Art Collection. Correspondences include cards, printed emails, and notes sent from students, St. Michael's College faculty, collection visitors, artists, curators, and more. Some files include photographs and other printed material sent to Father Donovan as enclosures, as well as texts created by Father Donovan for different art events and lectures. In some instances, a copy of Father Donovan's typed response is also included in the file.

Craig Stephenson Papers

This fourth accession of Craig Stephenson’s papers includes drafts and other materials relating to his recent works: Anteros: A Forgotten Myth (2011), Ages of Anxiety (2016), W. H. Auden’s Use of Jung’s Typology (2016), and Possession: Jung’s Comparative Anatomy (2017). It also includes materials relating to Stephenson’s teaching positions, along with talks and lectures given at conferences in recent years. It is supplemented by a small amount of personal correspondence, as well as by documents from the Philemon Foundation, and screenplay drafts on which Stephenson worked as a consultant.

2000 Accession: Materials relating to the editing and publication of Descant, the literary journal edited by Karen Mulhallen. Includes author correspondence, manuscripts, photographs, drawings, proofs, cover proofs, promotional materials, and financial and administrative documents (1989-2000). Also included are material pertaining to other editing work Mulhallen has done, manuscripts, proofs, notes and correspondence pertaining to her book The Grace of Private Passage. Joe Rosenblatt Papers

A collection of manuscripts and artworks. Manuscripts include drafts of Beds and Consenting Dreamers, and A Tentacled Mother, proofs of The Voluptuous Gardener, drafts of Italian translations of Rosenblatt's works, personal and business correspondence, and inscribed copies of books 1994-1998. Artworks by Rosenblatt include ink drawings, mixed media on paper, and mixed media on canvas. Some works framed.

George Elliot Clarke Papers

This accession of George Elliott Clarke’s papers contains extensive email correspondence from 2015 to 2018, as well as personal
correspondence, notes, invitations and letters. There is material related to published and upcoming books, most notably including
holograph notebooks for Canticles I, II, III and Portia White. As well as an early draft of The Motorcyclist and a film script co-written
with William D. MacGillvray based on George and Rue. Contains a draft, agreement and correspondence for GEC’s memoir, which
will be published by Alfred A. Knopf. Accession contains a large number of word processed academic articles and lectures, as well as
material related to Clarke’s role as a Professor at the University of Toronto. This accession includes poetry, articles and interviews
from Clarke’s time as the Parliamentary Poet Laureate (2016-2017), as well as poetry written during the period of 2015 to 2018,
including those sent by email. Records also contain research material, primarily as photocopied journals, articles and books, on the
topic of Black history, specifically in Nova Scotia. There is also poetry and other writing by other authors, which is primarily sent to
Clarke for revision or comments. In particular, there is a significant amount of information related to Rienzi Crusz.

This latest accession of Maureen Harris’ papers consists of manuscripts of her submissions to literary journals and literary award contests, as well as correspondence related to those submissions. It also includes material related to various other Harris projects, including her work with Brick Books (where she was, until 2009, its production editor), the League of Canadian Poets and the Literary Press Group of Canada.

Alberto Manguel Papers

This latest accession complements and builds on the existing collections of Alberto Manguel's papers held at the Fisher Library. It consists of manuscript drafts (including translations) of his various works - both fiction and non-fiction - including his 2007 Massey Lecture, "The City of Words." It also contains other editorial material, primarily galley and page proofs, as well as correspondence and material related to awards won by Manguel and various literary juries he has served on.
