Luigi von Kunits

File consists of a photograph of Luigi von Kunits by the Van Eeden Studio (Toronto) and a photograph of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with von Kunits conducting (ca. 1923-1931). The file also contains the following score:

  • Souvenir de Moscou : op. 6 : for violin and piano by Henri Wieniawski (Braunschweig: Henry Litolff's Verlag, [191-?]), with annotations and autograph by Kunits
  • Kunits' cadenza to Brahms' Violin Concerto, op. 77 (handwritten, "property of [Eugene] Kash")
  • Popular Songs : transcription by Kunits (containing "Scenes that are brightest"from Maritana by W.V. Wallace, transcribed for [solo violin?] and piano).

Oskar Morawetz

File consists of programs and posters for concerts featuring works by Oskar Morawetz, and copies of newspaper articles, correspondence, and programs. The file includes copies of letters from Coretta Scott King, regarding the Morawetz's compositions written in tribute to her husband Martin Luther King, Jr.; from Rose Kennedy regarding Morawetz's composition written in memory of her son John F. Kennedy; from Edward Johnson regarding the dedication of Morawetz's composition "Land of Dreams"; and from Otto Frank regarding the premiere of Morawetz's "From the Diary of Anne Frank." A copy of the vocal score for "From the Diary of Anne Frank" is also included in the file, with a handwritten dedication from the composer to Jean Lavender, inscribed "with best wishes and many thanks for building the Music Library at the Faculty of Music of the University of Toronto."

Menus from the United States - Pennsylvania

File contains single sheet and trifold menus. Menus feature Chinese (Hunan, Szechuan and Cantonese), Vietnamese and Thai cuisine. Menus are from Philadelphia, Allentown and Shamokin Dam. The photograph depicts a white van with the writing “Wong Chinese Food” in red lettering.

Menu from Cuba

File contains an older booklet style menu from Havana specializing in Chop Suey and Chow Mein. File also consists of photographs, taken in 1998, of Chinese restaurant signs and of Harley with his friends.

Photographs of L'Arche Daybreak

File consists of 14 photographs of members of L'Arche Daybreak, taken at events. The photographs were taken while Nouwen was at Daybreak, but it is unknown why these photographs were scanned and placed together. There is one photograph of Nouwen. Photographs include:
1 - Photograph of the Spirit Movers, a dance group consisting of L'Arche Daybreak core members.
2 - Photograph of three unknown individuals speaking into microphones. They are assistants. Bill van Buren can be seen to their right. The man and woman in the center are wearing sweatshirts with the L'Arche Daybreak 25th Anniversary logo. All of those visible are wearing red scarves.
3 - Photograph of two core members working in the Woodery.
4 - Photograph of Francis Maurice wearing a white robe and a crown of thorns, and carrying a wooden cross. Other members of L'Arche Daybreak are visible around him.

Giuliana Gattoni's collection of publicity photographs

File consists of press and publicity photographs collected by Giuliana Gattoni, a freelance ballet and opera critic in Toronto in the 1980s and early 1990s. Most of the photographs are of Canadian Opera Company productions. The file also includes some photographs of Canadian musicians, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and some photographs of festivals in Italy, including the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto and some performances at the Arena Sferisterio in Macerata.

Scrapbook compiled by Milton Blankstein

File consists of a scrapbook compiled by the Milton Blankstein (later, Blackstone), consisting of newspaper clippings of reviews and press notices, photographs, and programs relating to his career in New York City, Toronto, and other Canadian cities. The scrapbook includes a signed photograph of Eugène Ysaÿe and and Boris Hambourg (dated in Toronto, 1918).
