This collection consists primarily of a long sequence of letters from Alex Colville to Helen Dow, many of which contain detailed comments on individual paintings as well as on his aesthetic and philosophical views. In addition, there is correspondence from Colville's wife, Rhoda, thanking Dow for small gifts, and from his daughter, Ann, who worked at Fischer Fine Art Ltd., in London, England, the firm handling Colville's English sales. There is also a copy of Colville's B.A. thesis.

The Halyna Stadnyk Papers focuses on the activities of several members of the United Hetman Organization [Soiauz hetmantasiv derzahavnykiv]. Halyna Stadnyk is the main recipient of the letters in this collection. Her principal correspondents are Natalia Doroshenko and IaElysaveta Skoropads?ka-Kuzahim. Nataliaa Doroshenko (1888-1970) was a stage actress and a prominent figure in the theater world. She was the wife of renowned Ukrainian historian Dmytro Doroshenko. She lived in Canada from 1947 and in Munich from the 1950s. IaElysaveta Skoropads?ka-Kuzahim (1899-1976) was a civic leader and sculptor. Her father, Pavlo Skoropadsky-, served as hetman of the Ukrainian State in 1918. Forced to abdicate in November, the Skoropadsky- family fled to Berlin. There she helped with her father's political activities, while also resuming her study of sculpture. She was also actively engaged in organizing humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians in need following the 1932-1933 famine and during the Second World War. After the death of her father in 1945 and upon the death her sister in 1959, she assumed the leadership of the hetmanite movement. The collection also includes photographs of Danylo Skoropadskyi and other members of the hetmanite movement. There are a number of photographs of the Lypynsky- East European Research Institute in Philadelphia, as well as photographs of some of its members.

The collection consists of copies of correspondence and memorabilia relating to the lecture tours made by Russell to the United States in 1928 and 1930-31. A telegram and the copy of one letter are from Russell to James Pond, who organized the tours. The rest are carbon copies of letters mainly from Pond to Russell and concern arrangements for specific lectures.

Contains the only known records of Captain Fritz Hauch Eden Crowe. The collection comprises of two leaves from a scrapbook, which has pasted-in watercolours and clippings, as well as three singular watercolours and one pencil drawing. These eleven watercolours and two pencil drawings were made during the course of his travels as a British naval officer and Consul-General to Portuguese East Africa at the following locations: Bahia Blanca (Argentina), Chupat, Patagonia (Argentina), Colonia, Rio Plata (Uruguay), Santa Catarina and Anhatomirim Island (Brazil), Simambaya Island (off the coast of Lamu, Kenya), Cape Verde (off the Senegalese coast), Egypt and Ascension Island (South Atlantic Ocean, 1600 km from the coast of Africa). Collected clippings demonstrate Crowe’s interest in naval history and exploration. Crowe’s papers also contain personal correspondence, notably three letters written to his mother (1863, 1872, 1878), and one to his grandfather as a 14 year old naval cadet. Correspondence and documentation also relates to his career as a naval officer and consul-general including a commission document, a letter of introduction and a letter from Crowe requesting retirement. The collected papers comprises some estate documents, such as an original codicil to Crowe’s will, which makes arrangements for his young daughter, as well as documents outlining the distribution of inheritance from his Uncle and his parents.

They describe her concerns about the new Montreal General Hospital, including the selection of trained nurses for it. The letters show Nightingale's attention to detail about the hospitals where the nurses would work, her concern for their well-being, their qualifications and suitability for the work.

The collection consists of originals and copies of correspondence, proposals for productions, investors' agreements, contracts between the producers and the theatres as well as between the producers and actors; scripts, financial statements (including expenses, revenues, pre-production and production budgets, balance sheets); investors' kits, publicity, production and casting notes, programmes, flyers, newspaper and magazine reviews, resumes and photographs of actors, directors, choreographers and technical crews; videocassettes of some of the productions and a few properties.
The collection also contains the papers (contracts, proposals, financial statements, correspondence, notes, scripts, reviews of past productions, publicity and productions notes) of unrealized project possibilities.

The collection consists of glass slides used by Emily Warren to illustrate her lectures in the 1920's and 1930's, as well as some lecture notes and other writings by Warren. It also contains a few items relating to John Ruskin, including five pieces of manuscript, a typescript of Constance McRae's book on Emily Warren, The Light must be Perfect (1981), and some of her research material. There are also two large volumes of coloured slides of Emily Warren's paintings.

Papers consist of editorial files for Impulse magazine from 1975-1990. Files for each volume include submissions to the journal, drafts with editorial corrections and page proofs. Many files include additional editorial material, such as advertising, cover art, rejected submissions and correspondence. The collection includes an office archive, which contains correspondence, financial information (with grant proposals), advertising and promotional material, and circulation and distribution records. There is a large number of original art boards and other oversized materials, such as posters. The editorial records of I Shot Mussolini by Eldon Garnet is also included along with related correspondence.

The bulk is photographs taken by Robert John Davidson, a Quaker missionary in Western China for 35 years beginning in the 1890s, and include some rare and unique photos of life in China at the turn of the 20th century. It also includes various papers, including missionary travel itineraries, of the Davidson family.
