Gibson, Graeme
Includes extensive materials related to Leonard Cohen’s early writing and publications, both poetry and prose, as well as some plays and television play scripts. There are multiple drafts of many poems from Cohen’s undergraduate years through his mid-late 20s, both typescript (many with holograph revisions) and holograph. There are similar drafts of prose: short stories, and prose fragments, from the same period. Many of these writings became the basis for Cohen’s publications. Also included are materials directly related to the publication of Let Us Compare Mythologies, The Spice Box of Earth, The Favorite Game, Flowers for Hitler, and The Death of a Lady’s Man, including typescripts, page proofs, and correspondence with publishers and literary agents. There is also correspondence with friends, mentors, and colleagues, as well as some fan mail from 1967-68. The materials span 1950-1968.

Consists of papers relating to the family of William Oelschlager including correspondence from him to his family, journals of his trips to Manitoba and to Europe, drafts of his report to the Minister of Agriculture and his letter to the Mayor and Council of the town of Berlin, passports of other family members, extract from a birth certificate, autograph albums and two issues of the Daily Telegraph (Berlin) Ont. with an account of his funeral and that of his grand-daughter Martha. Explanatory notes about the Oelschlager Family by his great grand-daughter, Joyce Brown, are included.

It includes drafts of poetry, both published and unpublished, and essays, as well as professional and personal correspondence. The first accession (1901-1906) of this collection consists of papyri from the Fayûm, Hibeh, and Oxyrinchus, Egypt. It includes fragments from classical authors (some with textual interest); legal documents (including marriage contracts, land transfers, tax receipts, a will, various contracts); miscellaneous accounts and receipts; and personal letters. Many are very fragmentary and mutilated. The second accession of Graeco-Roman documents (2004) is largely undescribed. Those papyri housed in glass have been photographed and may be viewed at the 3rd link below.
This collection is comprised of material from a number of different and important British and Canadian families. It has been collected and maintained over the years by Rosemary Partridge (nee Annesley). She is the daughter of John Smyth Annesley, whose original documents comprise a large share of the material in this collection, which is broad in its diversity. It includes an extensive collection of 19th century seafaring material, including ship logs, diaries, and British Naval documents, through to items from the First World War, including photos and correspondence. It also includes extensive correspondence among member of the various families represented in the collection, as well as original diaries and journals.

It also includes a large collection of POW correspondence Bacque received after publishing his book Other Losses, which he used for research into his follow-up, Crimes and Mercies. Other material in the collection include manuscripts for Bacques journalism work, along with correspondence and editing work he did with Seal Books in the 1970s.

This collection consists primarily of a long sequence of letters from Alex Colville to Helen Dow, many of which contain detailed comments on individual paintings as well as on his aesthetic and philosophical views. In addition, there is correspondence from Colville's wife, Rhoda, thanking Dow for small gifts, and from his daughter, Ann, who worked at Fischer Fine Art Ltd., in London, England, the firm handling Colville's English sales. There is also a copy of Colville's B.A. thesis.
