The collection consists of both private family correspondence and business papers. Included in the family correspondence are letters from William and his wife Elizabeth to their children, as well letters from relatives in Ireland, family friends and from important figures of the day who were acquaintances of Tyrrell. There is also material relating to Tyrrell's career in local politics and his activities as Justice of the Peace in Weston, Ont. The collection also contains business papers that relate to Tyrrell's contracting and building business.

The collection consists of a book of fur-trading posts, an encyclopedia of the fur trade, land surveyors of western Canada, traverses of the journeys of Thompson and Mackenzie, and notes on the 78th Fraser Highlanders, among other items related to the fur trade and Canadian northwest exploration.

The collection consists of glass slides used by Emily Warren to illustrate her lectures in the 1920's and 1930's, as well as some lecture notes and other writings by Warren. It also contains a few items relating to John Ruskin, including five pieces of manuscript, a typescript of Constance McRae's book on Emily Warren, The Light must be Perfect (1981), and some of her research material. There are also two large volumes of coloured slides of Emily Warren's paintings.

Consists of the bulk of Williams' literary work, from the mid-1970s up until 2005. It includes manuscript drafts, research materials, interview transcriptions, correspondence, and copies of her published work.

The collection consists of 43 architectural drawings, blueprints and related materials by Willmot, and include those for four major houses and two commercial buildings in Los Angeles. It also includes two blueprints by his father, Mancel Willmot.

The collection consists of manuscript and mimeographed materials relating to the history of labour and socialist movements in Ontario and Canada, with special emphasis on the Ontario section of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF). It consists chiefly of the personal files of individual CCF party members and others active in the socialist and labour movements in Ontario. Among those individuals include: James McArthur Conner, William Crocker, William Dennison, Alice Loeb and Desmond Morton, among others. Also included are the records of Arthur Mould, a labour leader and president of the Ontario section of the Canadian Labour Party.

The collection consists primarily of correspondence, both business and personal, to Irene McGuire, owner of the Toronto-area bookshop Writers & Co. The letters deal with topics such as book launches held at Writers & Co., general information about books from readers, writers and publishers, and letters on other topics related to the book store. Among the correspondents include Graeme Gibson, Nan Talese, Alberto Manguel, Helen Garner, Greg Gatenby, W.P. Kinsella and Douglas Fetherling, among others.

The collection consists of holograph typescript manuscripts of Blunden's lecture notes, essays, speeches, addresses and poems, as well as correspondence with Sheila Yuan, who was Blunden's secretary in the Deptartment of English at the University of Hong Kong in the 1950s.

Diaries of Bessie Mabel Scott Lewis kept during her freshman and sophomore years as student in Faculty of Arts at the University of Toronto 1889-1891; invitation to attend a reception at President Loudon's house, December 13, 1890; her academic gown; article on "College Women" by Bessie Lewis (mss); and copy of article on her and her diaries in "The Chronicle" vol 48 (1975-1976). Bessie Lewis was the first Ottawa woman to attend a Canadian university full-time.

Turnbull (1906-1995), former Vice-president, Health Sciences , and Executive Assistant to the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, John Hamilton, during the time of the construction of the Medical Sciences building. Includes one group photo presumed to be of audience watching ceremony re Medical Sciences Building and group photo of D.I Turnbull with Mr. and Mrs. R.R. McLaughlin (1967). Also includes a typescript "History of Woods, Gordon & Co."

Photographs, diplomas and some sparse correspondence document Harold Caples's education in the Faculty of Medicine (M.D. 1924) as well as his career as an obstetrician and gynecologist. He is reported to have been the 3rd Canadian to have attained this specialist recognition by being admitted as a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The photographs relate mainly to the University of Toronto and include the graduating class for Medicine in 1924, the University of Toronto senior basketball team in 1923-24 as well as a composite of the Nu Sigma Nu fraternity for 1923-24. The correspondence relates to his medical training both at the University of Toronto and in the United Kingdom, as well as his early work in radiology and the use of radium. There are also military documents relating to his service both in World War I and World War II.

The records relate to Isaac Albert Rumble, who graduated from Victoria College in 1902 and taught business in Toronto. The records consist of three items: an unidentified class photograph from 1900; a photograph of the graduating class in Arts from 1902; and a certificate of chartered accounting from 1913.

Copy of "Erindale College Library, the Early Years", a history of the Library submitted by Mrs. June Seel for the Histories of Libraries course at the Faculty of Library Science. Appendices contain original photographs and examples of publications of Erindale College Library.

The collection consists of photos, manuscript notes and ephemera relating to Gilbert and Sullivan, and especially to the D'Oyley Carte Company across Canada in 1927. There is also some biographical material relating to J.A. McNeil.

B2014-0014 has been described at the file leve, and includes correspondence, meeting minutes, membership lists, surveys and questionnaires, publications, reports, and other organizational records of the Library Association of the University of Toronto(LAUT). LAUT’s primary activities centred around topics such as employment and working conditions, salary matters, strikes, the status of women, the stack access debate, and the academic status of librarians as faculty members.

LAUT interacted with The University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA), the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), the University of Toronto Staff Association (UTSA), the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), and the Canadian Association of College and University Librarians (CACUL) over the course of its activities.

The collection consists of seven diaries detailing the life John George Mudge. When the diaries open, Mudge is living in Ireland where he owns a creamery at Ballygrenane, near Listowell. By 1904, he has moved to Devon and by 1906 he is working at Oxford House in East London. In the summer of 1907, he journeys to Canada, visiting Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver. The latter years of the diaries are illustrated with numerous photographs, postcards and ephemera.

The collection begins with the diaries written during the war years and ends with correspondence relating to a conference she was to attend during the academic year after her death. All extant poetry and prose is here, in various forms. Some matters pertaining to the Slavic Dept. at the University of Toronto, as well as obituaries, memorial cards, etc. have been included.

Records of brothers, William Bowie Dunbar and John Gardner Dunbar. A student and instructor in the Faculty of Applied Science, William's records include student class notes, teaching notes and two engineering drawings, 1908-1949 (boxes 1 and 2). John's records consist of class notes, created while a Faculty of Arts student, 1910-1913 (boxes 2 and 3). Also includes 4 photographs of William and John, taken circa. 1912-1917.

Clippings and memorabilia document the Varsity Women's Hockey Team who, in 1925 won both the Ontario Ladies Hockey Championship and the Dominion title. Thora McIlroy played defence on the team.

Course notes in gynaecology, obstetrics and pathology taken by Leslie Lloyd Murray while a student in the fifth and sixth years of the six-year programme in medicine at the University of Toronto. His teachers included: for gynaecology, W. A. Scott (associate); for obstetrics, W. B. Hendry (professor) and H. B. VanWyck (junior demonstrator); and for pathology, D. E. Robertson (associate), H. W. Wookey (junior demonstrator), 'Nuts', and Duncan Graham (professor).

Tau Sigma Phi fraternity records including constitution, minutes of meetings, manual of procedures, pledge sheets of members, and membership lists. This fraternity later became a chapter of the international Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. It ended with the establishment of the Alpha Beta Chapter.

Collection includes journal and correspondence relating to a biography Rachel Grover was working on of her great grandmother-in-law, Harriet Maria Grover. This material dates from 1846-1901, and includes original letters and a diary, as well as typed transcripts. Collection also includes correspondence Rachel Grover had with various Canadian authors. Correspondents include Margaret Avison, Earle Birney, George Johnston, Mavis Gallant, Joan O'Donovan, Thomas Radall, Scott Symons and David Solway.

The collection includes typescript drafts of Halliday's columns on birds and nature for The Toronto Star Weekly and other publications; alphabetical subject files; reader correspondence and correspondence with naturalists, birders, publishers, editors and friends (including extensive correspondence with Al Oeming, founder and director of the Alberta Game Farm, and one letter from John Diefenbaker); photographs of mushrooms, insects, animals and birds by Halliday; notes and sketches; print and ephemera.

Collection of thirteen letters written by John Cowper Powys, Littleton Powys, Llewelyn Powys and Theodore Francis Powys. There is also a notebook, "Where Is It?" that contains names and addresses for the Powys family and others.

The papers document the way in which a book privately published in Canada became an international best seller.

Scrapbook of newspaper clippings presumably collected by Rev. Charles Dade (b1803-d1872) former Mathematical Master at Upper Canada College (ca1829). Inside cover inscribed "C. Dade Toronto U. Canada 1835". Obituaries at front of volume. Clippings relate to events in Upper Canada, including U.C. College and education.

This collection of Harvey family papers includes: correspondence to Arthur Harvey about his writings and other interests, to Jane Grist Harvey, his wife; photographs from the studios of Notman, Notman & Fraser, Simpson Bros., Stanton, Eldridge Stanton, Archambault & McCorkingdale, and Livernois; printed appearances and clippings.

A collection of fifty-one watercolours and drawings of Canadian scenes by Sir Edmund Walker Head and Lady Head. They were made when Sir Edmund was Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick (1848-1854) and Governor-General of Canada (1854-1861). A fragment in Lady Head's hand from the cover of the portfolio in which many of the sketches were kept is also included.

Wilkins.
