Bibliographies for Desert Spirituality and Contemporary Ministry and Spiritual Direction courses

File consists of a bound volume of typed and photocopied bibliographies compiled by Nouwen for use by his students in two courses.
There are eleven lists of readings and bibliographies in this bound volume. They include bibliographies on spirituality, Western mysticism, Ignatian spirituality, prayer, hesychasm, Russian spirituality, and Eastern spiritual theology. Some of the bibliographies were compiled by Nouwen's teaching assistant Joseph Nunez. This bound version appears to be Nouwen's personal volume as it contains minor annotations by him.

File consists of copies of unpublished manuscripts of bibliographies on practical theology relevant to the following countries/areas: France (R. Voeltzel), Germany (F. F. Neill, C.S.B. requesting a copy of Feeley's bibliography and Feeley's response.

Bibliography for Desert Spirituality and Contemporary Ministry and Spiritual Direction courses

File consists of a 17-page typed bibliography compiled by Joseph Nunez for use by Nouwen's students in two courses. The bibliography is bound in blue stiff paper and has a Yale Divinity Library label reading "Div Lib / ARCHIVES & MSS. / Record/ Group/ No. 68". This copy has been annotated by someone other than Nouwen, noting which books were carried by the Yale Library. Nouwen may have deposited this bibliography at the library as a reference tool for his students.

Bill Veenstra, Christian Reformed Church of Clarkson - January 18 - 19, 1991

File consists of correspondence with Bill Veenstra, regarding Nouwen's participation in a leadership retreat for the Christian Reformed Church of Clarkson, Mississauga, Ontario. The theme for the retreat was "The Role of Leaders in the Development of Spirituality." Includes a letter from Nouwen to Veenstra accepting the invitation. Also includes Nouwen's handwritten notes on a file folder for the event.

File consists of two documents produced by the Proportional Representation Society: 'Report for the Year May, 1927 - April, 1928: The Next Step after Equal Franchise,' and the May 1920 issue (volume 10, number 36) of the Journal of the Proportional Representation Society. File also includes a copy of a bill to amend the law with respect to the House of Commons method of voting and the redistribution of seats, and a document entitled 'Points on Registration Work: Imperial Parliamentary Franchise (Man or Woman).'

File consists of material regarding Nouwen's bills to be paid and recorded. Includes invoices from various vendors such as FedEx, UPS, Purolator, and an income tax installment payment summary.

Bills, invitations and correspondence regarding University of Notre Dame events, 1967

File consists of administrative records and correspondence between Nouwen and various priests for the year of 1967. These records and letters refer to three-day workshops for priests, as well as symposiums and lectures which Nouwen appears to have organised at the University of Notre Dame. This file also includes bills for providing food and beverages for the workshop as well as forms for reserving rooms for these events through Notre Dame's Center for Continuing Education.
Some of the lecturers of these events include Dr. Seward Hiltner, Rev. Eugene C. Kennedy and Fr. Kilian McDonnell. The records also indicate that Nouwen himself presented a paper, "The Priest and his Mental Health" during a symposium, 'Priests in Contemporary Society' on May 4, 1967.
