The theme of the event was "We Come to Share Our Story." Includes a schedule for the event and a list of themes and related questions. Also includes a letter of response from Nouwen stating that he can only participate in the first day of the event.

St. Philip's on-the-Hill - March 13 - 14, 1993

File consists of correspondence, with Rev. Judy Rois, and other material regarding Nouwen's leadership in a day of workshops for St. Phillip's on-the-hill, Unionville, Ontario. Nouwen conducted two workshops on March 13th with the theme "A Listening Heart." Nouwen was to be the homilist at the church's mass on March 14th but instead Alan Cook was the homilist for the service. Includes schedule, pamphlet, brief Alan Cook biography, memo in Nouwen's hand regarding not doing the homily, and notes in Nouwen's hand for the event. File also includes a thank you card from Pam Hay-Ellis who attend the event.

File consists of a letter from Rev. Gregory Johanson and a typed letter from Nouwen regarding a collection of sermons on pastoral care themes, tentatively titled "Feed My Sheep: Sermons on Contemporary Issues in Pastoral Care" to be published by Abingdon. Nouwen contributed a piece titled "Aging and Caring", co-written by Walter J. Gaffney.

St. Paul's Anglican Church - March 14, 1993

File consists of correspondence, with Rev. Barbara Sykes, and other material regarding Nouwen's participation as speaker at St. Paul's Church, Toronto, Ontario. Nouwen spoke on "Healing Our Relationship's with Others" as part of the church's series "A Time to Heal: Reflections on the Healing Ministry." Includes a suggested format for the healing service, a copy of the healing service from the week before Nouwen's, a flyer, a bulletin, music and lyrics for Amazing Grace and the "Third Sunday of Lent, Year A" from the "Book of Alternative Services." Also includes Nouwen's handwritten notes for the service.

Kanuga Conference Center- March 17 - 19, 1993

File consists of correspondence and other material regarding Nouwen's leadership at the Bowen Christian Commitment Conference, at the Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Nouwen's topic was "The Beloved Community." Nouwen was accompanied to the conference by Sue Mosteller and Bill Van Buren. The conference was sponsored by the Institute in Servant Leadership. Includes correspondence regarding arrangements for the event, correspondence from participants in the event, 1992 and 1993 Kanuga Program Offerings, Kanuga pamphlets, and Institute for Servant Leadership newsletters. Also includes forms for permission to tape the event and cheque stubs for honorarium, travel, photographs and miscellaneous expenses.

File consists of letters from Clyde Johnson, a participant at the 1982 Pendle Hill Summer Institute, some in celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Nouwen's Ordination, as well as copies of letters from George De Souza, Sherry Weddell, Julie Hammerstein and Bruce Lakin, in support of Johnson's ministry at Ichthus House (Richmond, MA); a published interview with Richard Foster and Howard Macy in the June 1982 issue of Quaker Life, and an information package and open letter from Andres Thomas for the Campaign to Free Hiber Corteris, a political prisoner in Uruguay.

File consists of correspondence between Dorothy Johnson and Kathy Christie, regarding Mrs. Johnson's visit to the Dayspring. The correspondence indicates that Mrs. Johnson stayed at the Dayspring in March 1993 and that she also planned a visit for December 1993.

File consists of material regarding Nouwen's leadership in a series of services at St. Mary's Immaculate. Includes a fax and a copy of the fax containing a detailed schedule for each of the three evenings of the event. Also includes a program for each evening annotated with notes in Nouwen's hand.

File consists of correspondence, from Alan Green, and other material regarding Nouwen speaking to a small group of teachers from the Waterloo Separate School Board at Resurrection Catholic Secondary School, Kitchener, Ontario. Includes a map and a schedule for the day, Nouwen spoke on "Spirituality of Work," "Spirituality of Healing," and led a discussion. Also includes a copy of an article by Nouwen entitled "The Duet of the Holy Spirit: When Mourning and Dancing Are One," from the New Oxford Review, June 1992.
