This series contains material relating to Prof. York’s life. It includes a curriculum vitae from 1998 and a copy of the U of T National Report on Derek York and his work with laser probe argon-argon dating.

This series consists of one item, a portrait of Harold Innis, Helleiner's colleague in the Department of Political Economy at the University of Toronto. The portrait was taken by the Toronto photographers Ashley & Crippeu.

Series C: Photographic Prints contains all of photograph prints that were housed in paper folders and filing cabinets in the office of Ken Jones. The folders were arranged by subject. For the most part, folders are labelled by subject but the folders and some photographs were out of order when the records were transferred to UTSC Library. In some cases, folders contain photos that do not reflect the subject of the original folder label.

Photographs include a portrait of Prof French from 1990, several images of experimental equipment at UTIAS, a group shot of participants of a course on molecular beam methods at the New Hampton School (1965) and contact prints from the opening of the new wing at UTIAS in 1989.

Photographs of Dr. Rhodes at various professional meetings and functions. There are also several portraits of Dr. Rhodes in his office and at his desk as well as passport shots of himself and his wife Harriette.

Images consist mainly of portraits of William Dale including one from 1873 when he received his M.A. and several copies of an engraving done in 1920, one year before his death. There is also one group portrait of the General Committee of the University College, Literary and Scientific Society, 1868-1869.

Series consists of professional portraits of Michael Colgrass, as well as photographs from workshops, concerts, and rehearsals, and family photographs. Series includes photographs of Colgrass in Stuttgart when he was a timpanist with the Seventh Army Symphony Orchestra (1955-1956); from his time in Copenhagen for the performance of his Rhapsodic Fantasy by the Danish Radio Orchestra conducted by Tamas Vetö (1965); from his Fort Wayne Residency (1972); of his rehearsals with the Canadian Brass for Flashbacks (1979); from a production of Colgrass' "Something's gonna happen" at Duggan Jr. High School in Edmonton, Alberta (1982); from rehearsals of Chaconne with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Davis (1984); neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) workshops, particularly at the Dynamic Learning Center at NLPU in Santa Cruz, California (1987); workshop at University of New Mexico (1988); at Longmeadow High School and Springfield Public School in Massachusetts (1992); University of Manitoba workshop (1997); and Winona Drive School workshop (1999).

B1974-0015 primarily consists of photo albums that were compiled and maintained by Professors C.A. Chant; G.R. Anderson; and Grant Robertson, a Professor of Classics at Victoria College who married Elizabeth Chant.

B1976-0022 consists of eight albums that belonged to the Anderson Family.

Series consists of images of Prof. Venkatacharya and his colleagues, in addition to family portraits. Images cover multiple trips to India, including to Srisailam, the presentation of Prof. Venkatacharya’s honorary degree at Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, as well as formal portraits of Tuppil and Vijaya Venkatacharya.

This series consists of personal photographs of Mary O'Brien with her partner Cath McNaughton, friends, and colleagues. Includes early photographs of O'Brien as a nurse in Scotland and Montreal, two photographs of O'Brien at the Annual Conference of the UK Labour Party in October 1956, O'Brien receiving the City of Toronto's Constance E. Hamilton award in 1982. Also included are professional portraits of O'Brien taken for her books and a 1985 interview with the Kingston Whig-Standard.

Series consists of photographs of faculty, musicians-in-residence, guest artists, students, faculty events, and facilities, which were collected and used by the promotions office at the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.

Series consists of promotional and personal photographs of J. Churchill Arlidge, his family, and groups to which he belonged, including the Independent Order of Foresters (Arlidge was the High Organist); Christ Church at Deer Park, Toronto, Ontario; and a Grand Jury in 1907, which was appointed to investigate and make recommendations regarding public institutions and services in Toronto.

Formal portraits, publicity prints and snapshots documenting Professor Guillet’s research. In particular there are prints showing Professor Guillet in his lab with Arthur Stein and Andjelka Lavoie, working with the molecular probe apparatus in 1969. This probe was used to study the glass transition of polypropylene.

Photographs removed from textual series documenting Friedland's family and friends, his education including several portraits. Also some photographs directly related to correspondence and a slide show documenting his time in West Africa.

The photographs in this series document the personal and professional life of Professor Friedland. The series beings with eleven files of photographs relating to Professor Friedland and his family, including formal portraits of himself, and informal images of his parents, his wife and children, and other relatives. Other images document events at the Faculty of Law, including informal parties and reunions; honours (including awards and honorary degrees) bestowed upon Friedland and his colleagues in law and university administration; and photographs relating to some of his research projects, including the University of Toronto history project.

This series consists of one folder with two photographs. The first is a portrait of Nathan Keyfitz taken in 1960 while the second is of Northwest Company Buildings in Terrebonne, Quebec.

Photographs document Frances Dale’s activities specifically at the University of Toronto, at the Ontario College of Education, her numerous trips abroad during the 1930s and her participation in several physical education schools. This series also contains one formal portrait of Frances Dale taken in 1968 as well as photographs of her sister Margaret and family.

Group portraits of various baseball and basketball teams document Dale’s involvement in athletics while a student at University College from 1927-1930. Other portraits show her as a member of the Classical Society, 3T0 Executive and the Queen’s Hall House Committee. Snapshots taken by Dale give informal views of residents of Queen’s Hall in 1927. There are a few photographs of physical education training at OCE and one panoramic portrait of staff and students for her graduating class 1930-31, as well as a similar panoramic of a 1946 guidance course.

Dale took numerous photographs of her trips to Europe in 1934, 1936, 1938, 1939 and 1940. There is also a scrapbook of her trip to England in 1934. Snapshots document her time at the English Scandinavian Summer School in Sturry, England in 1934 and 1936, her time at Andersskolen, Denmark in 1936, to Europe on the S.S.Normandie in 1938, at the Liverpool Physical Training College in 1939-40 and her participation at the Lingiad in Stockholm in July 1939. Most of the snapshots are identified on the reverse side. Notes usually mention the date, event and identify individuals in the photograph. Some photographs have related negatives. There are also two group photographs documenting her participation in the Canadian Girls in Training Camps in 1946 and 1952.

Photographs documenting professor George S. N. Luckyj of the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. Includes two early photos from his childhood as a well as photographs documenting his trips to the Ukraine in the 1990s.

Series consists of photographs received after Nouwen's death. These include black and white and colour photographic negatives, prints, albums, and slides.

The photographs in this series document portions of Dr. Solandt’s life. There are a half dozen spanning the years 1949 to 1978, and there is one studio photograph of Andrew Lawrence (Laurie) Chute, a former fellow medical student at the University of Toronto and colleague in wartime Britain. There are two folders of colour photoprints by David Grenville of Dr. Solandt at his residence, the Wolfe Den, near Bolton, Ontario and of his last visit in August1986 to his ancestral haunts at Inverness, Megantic County, in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.

As a long time professor in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, L. E. Jones photographed and collected images of many Faculty and campus events including convocations, memorials, award ceremonies, retirements and open houses. Of particular notice are images of: the Engineering Centenary celebrations in 1973: the mounting of the lintel from the Old S.P.S. building and the installation of Becca's H in front of the Galbraith building; the fire, rebuilding and reopening of the Sandford Flemming building, 1977-1982; the excavation of the site of the Old Magnetic Observatory, 1979; the design, construction and installation of the Sundial, 1993.

As Engineering Archivist, Jones also collected many historical images documenting the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering as well as its predessor the School of Practical Science. Included in this collection are portraits of faculty and students groups, images of student activities, buildings, Gull Lake Survey Camp and Ajax Campus. These photographs mainly document the first half of the 20th century.

Photographs depict Kathleen Parlow's life, musical career (including photographs of the Parlow String Quartet), and travels to various places including Hawaii and Asia. Series consists primarily of analog photographs and some negatives of play rehearsals, performances and portrait shots of actors and actresses.

Series consists of promotional and professional photographs of Elizabeth Benson Guy, as well as photographs from her personal life, including from her 25th school reunion at Netherwood School, [New Brunswick] and in Chester, [Nova Scotia?]. The photographs pertaining to her career as a musician include photographs from her appearance in The Bartered Bride at the Toronto Conservatory of Music (1947) and in a performance of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute, unknown date).

Series consists of colour and black and white photographs (including negatives) accumulated by Nouwen, and colour slides taken by him and others. Photographs not taken by Nouwen were gathered mainly from friends and acquaintances through correspondence, over a period of approximately 30 years. The photographs were stored by Nouwen and his administrative assistant(s) in files, or displayed on one of several large bulletin boards Nouwen used in his office and photograph albums compiled. Some photographs that arrived with correspondence were kept in the General Files series with their letter of origin, while others which were not clearly attached to a letter were separated and added to this series.

Subject matter depicted in the photographs include professional portraits of Nouwen; Nouwen in both his professional and private capacities at: the Yale and Harvard Divinity Schools, and at L'Arche Daybreak (leading church services, at birthdays and Christmas celebrations), religious events (baptisms, first communions, ordinations and weddings); as well as his travels to Peru and Bolivia, the United States, France, and other countries; and with his family in the Netherlands both as a child and as an adult. Photographs also depict Nouwen's friends, their families, and L'Arche Daybreak assistants and core members. In addition, a large number of photographs in this series (approximately one fifth), document Nouwen's time spent in Germany with a flying trapeze troupe, The Flying Rodleighs.

Slides were taken by Nouwen of Martin Luther King, Jr’s civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, AL, in March 1965; of the University of Notre Dame; vacations, including a trip to Greece; and of Nouwen with Rodleigh Stevens of The Flying Rodleighs in 1995.

This series contains a small number of loose photos, some of which would have been collected, others taken by Dr. Benson. Early snapshots relate to Benson’s summer at Muskoka, the Blake summer residence, La Maison Rouge and La Caprice and her trip(s) to Europe. This series also contain 2 photo albums documenting the Benson/Blake families including trips, summer homes, Terralta, Port Hope.
