This accession contains mainly correspondence, photographs, memorabilia and diplomas from all three members of the family. Of particular note are the diaries of Sir J.C. McLennan for the last two years of his life as well as well as geological field notebooks and expense books.

Series consists of Henri Nouwen memorabilia and ephemera received by the archives after Nouwen's death. Material in the series includes articles, promotional materials, catalogues, research files, souvenirs, and artefacts. The series is separated into four subseries:

1. Nouwen events, promotional material, programs and souvenirs
2. Publisher materials
3. Artefacts

Subseries consists of artefacts received after Nouwen's death.

Scope and Content: The collection is comprised primarily of screener, master copies, and distribution copies of the various programs Octapixx distributed.

Fonds consists of records created and collected by John Beckwith during his career as a composer, writer, music critic, radio broadcaster, administrator, educator, and performer. Records include sketches, drafts, and manuscripts of his compositions and arrangements, as well as programs, posters, reviews, correspondence, recordings, and other materials from premieres and other performances of his works.

Fonds also includes records relating to Beckwith's work as a radio commentator and script writer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC); music critic for the Toronto Star; professor and dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Music; and writer of numerous lectures, articles, and books.

The collection comprises mostly of awards Leonard Rambeau received during his career, many being Gold and Platinum sales awards. There is also a small selection of press clippings that note himself, photographs, and yearbooks for Saint Mary’s University.

The Ian Thornley 2016 accession includes many unique textual records. Present in the collection are record agreements, press clippings, and many notes relating to his and Big Wreck’s many tours. There are also invoices and news reports. Many raw, rough mixes, and unmastered audio recordings of Big Wreck’s music is present as are recordings from Thornley himself. Moving image elements are present, capturing live performances and interviews of the band and Thornley. There is also a significant amount of photography documenting Thornley during his career.

The collection covers all points of the band’s career, from the early years, and then a large emphasis with material from the early to mid 2000s. All aspects of the workings of the band are present, from raw footage captured for music video creation, master mixes for their albums, and touring information.

The acquisition includes recorded footage for their music video “Young Lions” and other videos, digital files with lyrics, various artifacts including promotional patches, 2010 Independent Music Award, commercial CDs and DVDs of their work, audio master reels of select albums, various newspaper clippings regarding the band, and many textual records on tour information and expenses, royalty statements, photographs and print material for promotional use, financial statements, some personal records, and a large collection of posters.

File contains a souvenir, silk program from a gala performance by command of His Majesty the King in honour of the visit of the President of the French Republic. The concert featured the following soloists: Luisa Tetrazzini (Italian coloratura soprano), Caroline Hatchard (British soprano), John McCormack (Irish tenor), and Nellie Melba (Australian soprano).

Item is a flute, made by George Goulding of London, England, with a silver square-ended D-sharp key. Its typical eighteenth-century small embouchure and finger holes produce a sweet and delicate tone. This type of flute was first seen in about 1672 on the European continent, about 1705 in England, and was in general use until 1780.

Item is a flute, made by Langlois in London, with plated brass keys and bands. The flute is an example of Boehm's final model of 1846, with a cylindrical bore and parabolic head-joint.

Item is a flute, designed by Abel Siccama and made in London, with sterling-silver bands and keys with adjustable pad sockets, except for the C and C-sharp keys, which have pewter plugs. The A and E holes are out of direct reach of the fingers, and are covered by keys.

The material present in this acquisition reflects more of the latter half of Curran’s career. Many stages of the music creation processes are present, with textual material reflecting the legal side, while the audio material reflects the recording side. Textual and photographic material capture life on tour, and material related to music videos is found in video material. This acquisition is divided into seven series by format:

Personal records of Professor Stephen Clarkson, documenting his career as a political scientist, writer, teacher, and his early political career in municipal politics and with the Liberal Party of Canada and Ontario. Records in this fonds document the entirety of Clarkson's life and career. Records include biographical information (CV's, activity reports, honours), personal and professional correspondence, and files related to his early education and the writing of his Ph.D. thesis.

Series 3 to 13 consist of records documenting Clarkson's several books and his extensive research and writings over the course of his career. Joint projects and research with Christina McCall including original records by her can be found in some these series as well, specifically the research and writing of Trudeau and Our Times (Series 2) and research on Canadian Federal politics (Series 13).

Series 14 to 18, document Clarkson's teaching activities and his career within the University of Toronto's Department of Political Science.

Series 19 to 22 document his political roles within the Liberal party, his run for Toronto Mayor in 1969 and as well as his social activism.

This fonds also includes Liberal Party of Canada policy documents (1966-1976) belonging to Allen Linden that were given to Clarkson either because he took over as chair of the policy committee or collected as a primary resource for his research on the Liberal Party.

Accession B2019-0003 was an accrual acquired from his spouse Nora Clarkson following his death, and consists of files from his home office and laptop computer.

Accession B2023-0008 (1 box, 1975-2000) is an accrual of further personal records consisting of his journal and notes about his marriage to Christina McCall.

This series documents Dr. Moldofsky’s research activities and writings, except for the Microgravity, Sleep and Immune Functions in Humans (SWIF) project which is documented in Series 3. Includes draft research papers, lecture slides, conference presentations, and reports. Topics covered include sleep disorders, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Also included are digital files (originally on a CD) related to his more recent research on Disordered Sleep Physiology, Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain, Fatigue and Psychological Disturbances in Canadian Military Personnel with and without PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress disorder).

Finally, the series includes the first working model of a sleep apnea machine (ca. 1983), which was put together by Moldofsky and staff in his Sleep Lab, based on the ideas and research of Dr. Colin Sullivan of Australia, who had previously been Dr. Moldofsky’s student as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
